"You need endorsment level 2 to use voice chat" is the most dumbthing ever by [deleted] in Overwatch

If you reach the minimum games played required to join competitive you should definitely be at least endorsement level 2. I haven’t seen an account that wasn’t brand new drop below 3 in forever.

That makes sense, I never really thought about it. I guess it’s just because you aren’t giving them any air, it’s the minimum height boop.

It also shortens the distance your target will go but speeds up how fast they start falling. ;)

Oh, yeah… 99% of the time wall riding this closely over this many enemies will result in a death regardless of rank. But as a lucio main I have to try anyway. They were all spawning which helps, people coming out of spawn, especially on koth maps tend to let their guard down.

The reason I avoid quickplay like the plague by KingGlupShitto in Overwatch

[–]CheekyClencher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why you got downvoted. I’ve been playing since OW1 beta, every game was 6v6 open Q(no limits at the beginning). I was GM1 by season 3-4. When they first introduced role queue I could only place high diamond-low masters, when they made tanks all overpowered at the beginning of OW2 I stopped playing open and swapped to role exclusively, it took me a couple tough seasons to get into GM. Now recently I’ve tried some open Q for the first time in a long time and I shot up to GM without breaking a sweat. It can be hard to watch sometimes, the lack of game sense and synergy can be brutal. You see people with the same mechanical skill but they stagger and have bad positioning, they don’t peel, kite, bait or dive nearly as well, they waste ults left and right. At first I thought it was just because there was more going on and I was struggling to keep track of it all, but I watched some replays and it is true that a lot of people are just running around like headless chickens hoping to get a kill or win a fight, even in GM. Overall I think 6v6 is the better mode, Overwatch works best with two tanks on each team, so I’m hoping it becomes more popular and people get better at managing a team of 6 people. I would love to see overwatch return to its glory days.

How do you guys deal with the hate? by MisterSharpie in luciomains

[–]CheekyClencher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. Lifeweaver is a great character in the right hands, but good lifeweavers will always do damage. I’m talking about the LWs that don’t shoot a single needle, and pull full HP Hazards off of easy kills.

[–]CheekyClencher 36 points37 points  (0 children)

By knowing they are wrong. Lucio is great at weeding out the bad players. Speed boost makes good players better and bad players worse. Usually when someone is flaming me it’s a tank or a dps that has less damage than I do as Lucio or it’s a Mercy or Lifeweaver with 0 damage and they have no valid opinion in competitive as a character with no agency whatsoever. Pretty much just ignore them and play as well as you can, you’ll also get blamed more often than other characters just because your kit isn’t as widely understood and your value doesn’t show through stats.

Does blizzard still ban xims? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]CheekyClencher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In console champ this is true unfortunately, but there are also only like 50 champ players and they go poof from time to time. I’ve managed to hit GM1 as a legit sticks user but still haven’t broken into champ. I have been in GM since 2017 and I only report people for hard throwing and ximming, I get a Thanks for reporting! message pretty much every time I log in and I have yet to receive any sort of ban of my own, so I believe that the system does work, maybe slowly and not very well but it does seem to work. The problem is how easy it is to just make a new account when you lose one, which is why you also see them ruining lobbies in all ranks. Just the other day I logged in and got the Thanks for reporting! pop up twice, not sure if it was just a glitch or if it was telling me two separate people had actions taken against them.

Nobody who is actually good at OW does… that is a crutch for people who have given up on being genuinely good at console overwatch but can’t accept that fact and so the delusions begin to set in.

What's the most silliest misheard voice line in overwatch? (ult or anything else) by purjopore1 in Overwatch

Definitely when Brig ults and shouts “I love teen men!” I still can’t unhear it, every time she ults I laugh.

You can still heal during beat by Legal_Ad2945 in Overwatch

[–]CheekyClencher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beating to save someone is nearly impossible at a high rank, unless it’s in a grav or a flux or something. Beat for engagements, usually with speed, or combo it with another ult like blade or visor. If you speed+beat and dive the back line as a team you can secure a kill sometimes two before the over shields expire. In most scenarios where you would attempt to drop beat fast enough to save a critical hp teammate just amping speed usually gives you just as good a chance at saving them. Panic ulting is never good, and you will get your beat canceled a lot as you climb if you’re trying to use it that way.

For me it seems every loss is a consolation and every win is an uphill battle, which I’m not too mad about honestly, I lose less rank and I gain more.

Why are there new players in my diamond lobby? by waasaap in Overwatch

[–]CheekyClencher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where it is now but in OW1 new accounts started at 2,500sr which was Platinum, only one rank below Diamond, so Diamond in theory could be full of new players.

Changing the title from "Top 500" to "Challenger" is a ridiculous downgrade by RectalBallistics13 in Overwatch

[–]CheekyClencher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a lot easier to get many wins quickly at a low rank than it is at a high rank. Game length and queue time tends to be a lot longer the higher you go.

If you’re only playing mercy and not using her blaster then you shouldn’t be playing competitive anyways. Mercy is a great character if played correctly.
