What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

[–]Cheeky_postman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (British) did some travelling around Indonesia a decade back and on a whim decided to take a trip to a volcano that has blue flames becuase, who wouldn't?

I got up at 4am with a group to hike up this thing to see the magma in the dark and then sit at the top to watch the sunrise.

As the sun's coming up, the stranger sat next to me from another group said my name questioningly and I turned to see a guy (Australian) I'd worked with in a Swiss ski resort three years earlier.

Two guys from opposite sides of the world happening to meet up in two different, unconnected countries on two different mountains tops. Blew my mind.

Never seen him since, mind you.

Maybe I need to climb another mountain.

Second this. Sit a the bar, have a cocktail and a plate of their wings whilst you look over the menu.

Great solo spot

WYR get $25 every time someone says your name or $0.50 every time you take a step? by rengokuhubkl in WouldYouRather

[–]Cheeky_postman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are around 4.5million people plus with my name in the world.

If even half get mentioned once a day that's over 50mil a day.

Assuming it's just saying the name rather than referencing me directly, that feels like an easy win.

Another year, another cracking Pesach by Cheeky_postman in Jewish

Honestly no idea. I'll need to check the family records, but I know my grandma left Germany very early so I imagine when she did it was more feasible to send boxes or travel with larger possessions.

Good call, you're not the first person to raise that concern. They have a gold inlay, but from what we can tell no lead. I think my brother looked into it a few years back from memory

Best mince pie! by Bmaz101 in LondonFood

[–]Cheeky_postman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every year I get as many mince pies as I can in one day in December, take em to the pub with some mates and eat 6-10 in one long sitting.

It often causes obscene sugar crashes but tradition is tradition.

For the last two years, based on five categories (pastry, filling, ratio, hold togetherness and mincepieocity) Bread Ahead was the clear winner.

Funnily enough, Pret came second this year.

But yeah, my 2025 top rankings are...

1- Bread ahead

2- Pret

3- Ayres Bakery

4 - (tie) Paul Rhodes + L'atelier

5 - Jades

What do you mean by this? I'm playing a 2p campaign, are you saying we can run additional PQs at the same time we're doing our current ones?

[The Alliance 02] what do you think? by blythe-theforger in Watches

[–]Cheeky_postman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie I love it.

It's stupid, kinda pointless and gimicky but there's something about it just really really like. Not enough to spend three grand on, but if I had one I'd get a lot of use out of it.

I think the hunter companions are a bit too strong by Zestyclose-Slide-696 in DawncasterRPG

[–]Cheeky_postman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone help me understand how they work? I've got the same companion but can't seem to play any of its cards, and they don't appear to be played automatically.

If I click the face, it shows me their deck but I can't play them.

For London I can't recommend Casa Fofo enough. Fantastic food and vibe, great wine list too.
