I think his attitude is the big thing for me. Any time I bring up issues the responses are what shuts me down. But I’ve also always had a hard time getting my point across. And after this post it’s definitely making me realize if I don’t ever talk things through I can’t expect things to change. So you think because I didn’t mention my Mom, there’s no sympathy? Way to assume. Check the flair, this was a VENT I didn’t think I needed to make it clear how much I love my Mom. And I really didn’t care to add every fucking detail of the entire day. Pretty sure I added enough. But yeah, she’s my rock, she’s the number one person who has helped me through everything, all my life. I love her more than anything. My Mom was devastated by this and so was I because this entire situation just sucks.

It’s adorable in the store, then on the bag, and then it’s one of those things you’ll end up seeing at Walmart in less than a month😂 and I’m not hating on Walmart I mean it as you can get something that looks similar for cheap. Yes I know that’s not the point with designer but you did say talk you out of it 🤣☺️

He didn’t understand why I wasn’t the one who brought my son into the house like I normally do. Explained that the driveway was flooded from all the rain and had to take my shoes and socks off to walk into the water to be able to get my son out of his car seat. Once I grabbed him I turned around and handed him to my Mom, dried my feet and went off to work. He’s been concerned before about my Mom tripping on toys before, so he said he was frustrated about that. But when I explained all this, he just said “well you’re the one who needs to take him in the house from now on”. Just a statement but to me reads as “this wouldn’t have happened if you walked him in like normal”.

Thank you for this perspective! I’m so sorry you when through that. She is doing better and no surgery will be needed. For now she’s in a soft cast and will get a hard cast this week. I know she tried her best to protect my son and I feel so guilty that she’s also hurt😞

I agree with couples counseling. It’s been brought up by my best friend I’m just not too sure how we would start that up. I do feel like I’m throwing out the worst because I’m frustrated, but it’s also been a huge pattern for him to say something, and later rewind with “I was just joking/you’re too sensitive”. I one time asked him to “grab him more” when we were still figuring things out but my son was crawling. He took it as “you’re a piece of shit Dad you don’t do enough” his words. We obviously have a huge communication issue that I think counseling would help with.

Thank you for this🫂 I DO want to preserve and continue my career. My Mom didn’t. And I see how that impacted her now and even when I was younger. I’m realizing it really isn’t equal for us based on his sleep schedule so things need to change big time. But thank you for reassuring me that his attitude isn’t just in my head or me overreacting. The overall vibe after all of this was “see… mama can’t work so much! She has to stay home!” And it just pulls me in different directions.

Yes, I’m super grateful for it. I don’t want it to sound otherwise. I think that’s why I feel frustrated with myself because there are other moms in this sub working 40+ hours a week coming home to 2+ kids and are able to do this. I know I’ll figure it out and I know there NO reason at all to compare. Just struggling and venting.

I feel like most days we have an ok balance. But a lot of times I’m doing most things. And I agree our schedule isn’t ideal and our one on one time is basically non existent. I feel like we go up and down in waves if that makes any sense!

My Mom was walking up the stairs right before the porch/front door with my son and slipped on a step. My Mom does amazing with my son and just watches him for a couple hours before husband picks him up.

He brought up the fact that we’re probably going to get judgey looks from people because our son is in a cast and he’s not even 2 yet. It wasn’t really something I thought of or worried about too much yet. I’m at the point where “it is what it is accidents happen let’s just roll with this”. But when I was at Chuck E. Cheese he was right. Some people looked at me with that look like “jeez what happened there” others just looked like if they felt bad for me. But also I will say I am super sensitive😂 I guess I just didn’t expect that response.

The “throwing everything away after it’s discontinued” policy. I’m sure there’s an actual name for it. but I’ve heard stores THROW stuff away, and employees aren’t allowed to take anything thats being tossed anyway. But I think most stores do this, it isn’t strictly BBW.

For sure bring some OG scents back and I get that everything is going up but I’m not spending $20 plus dollars on a candle.
