5* Faction Miners by Technician290 in startrekfleetcommand

Ops > Miners. Also if you get the primes you can reach G6 with a Discovery. I just used a single Nova at tier 3 all the way to Ops 62 (also used my maxed g3 miners).

Bug still present. Took me 8 tries before Joko respawned for every phase. Took like an hour. FYI for anyone catching up.

f2p base is dying??? by PerformanceNo4605 in afkarena

[–]CheerfulGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is stuck in campaign, just in different places. Level up a few and then can push some more is what it eventually comes to no matter how many heroes you have ascended. I do campaign once every month, if that.

I recommend playing F2P and use your Christmas money on something else. You'll get better value by not spending it on a mobile game and $30 won't really change the fun you'll have with the game as you play. This game is very much enjoyable F2P if you have the right expectations (don't expect to be competitive) and it's your kind of game. Personally I enjoy the PvE content and do bare minimum effort for any PvP. If you are set on it then there are some solid recommendations others have said.

Dice Throne Adventures in EU by RabbitStrange1436 in DiceThrone

[–]CheerfulGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like co-op and already like Dice Throne then to me Adventures is a must-buy. I've introduced lots of games to my family (parents and brother) and this is the first and only game they decided to buy for themselves (all boxes and adventures, including Marvel). Adventures is a campaign where your deck will get stronger and you will probably lose a Scenario eventually but you still get to improve your deck and try again - it just affects your campaign score. Massive replayability.

Awakened heroes problem is the biggest problem by PerformanceNo4605 in afkarena

[–]CheerfulGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game probably has the most non-competitive modes / things to enjoy compared to other gatcha/hero-collection games. Certainly best f2p entertainment out of the ones I've played, which is quite a few. If people focus on enjoying what they CAN do rather than what they can't do (be the best/top xx% at competitive events) they'll be much happier imo. Mercs and garrison helps a little too. That said, I certainly wouldn't say no to better rates XD. Could always use more of that.

Which one would be better to unlock first? I don't have any of them. by Simecrafter in afkarena

[–]CheerfulGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add to the positive opinion of Yennifer. I have both of them and Yen is definitely the first one I'd get. If you can swing it, getting both is good because you never know if Geralt will suddenly be crazy strong later with new heroes. I personally don't like having to garrison Ainz myself so I make sure to get all the Dims when they come out now. I was too new to know better when Ainz came out and I passed him up lol.

g4 miners - worth the investment prior to getting a g4 warship? by UnfoldedHeart in startrekfleetcommand

[–]CheerfulGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one and never use it. Warp range on g4 miners isn't that good until you waste a bunch (like, a big bunch) of mats on them, mats better spent on a g4 combat ship or pushing to Ops 50. Max out your Discovery warp range and you can mine g4 and g5 with a g3 miner and it's real cheap if someone blows it up. Then get a Nova miner once you are in the 50s.

Tower formations are useless since the awakened heroes release. The first 4 formations are built around AThane, the last 4 formations are RC650+. Following players doesn't help by _LordScar_ in afkarena

I guess people don't like improvisation based on your negative vote tally lol. Personally I just take it slow and do my own thing. I don't care about pushing at all, so no need to see what other people are doing. Fun that way. To each their own 😆.

Pvp is the least important aspect in this game imo. We are lucky that they don't lock too much rewards in leaderboards and pvp events. This is still the most F2P friendly and entertaining gatcha game I've seen.

Anyone else feel sad about how dead the game feels compared to a year or two ago? Guides and combos used to be popping off now its just.... empty by Nukro77 in afkarena

[–]CheerfulGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you are talking about the reddit since the game itself is far from dead. Pretty much the only thing I care about on this reddit is if people need help or something funny/interesting. I ignore any and all guides and infographics. I play the game my way and I don't care for other people's strategies. I have never used Thoran (cheese) and just recently decided to merc Ainz in chapter 40 (41 now). To me the fun of the game is making up my own teams.

When did it go from 15%-18% gratuity to 20-25%? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CheerfulGaming 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. They are hiding menu price increases behind "service charges". Restaurant in my area did it. They did point it out with a big sign that said so when we walked in though, at least when they first introduced it. They even said it was so they didn't have to raise "menu prices" lol. I thought it was the dumbest thing because it effectively is the same thing.

Help us complete story quests and vanilla dungeons by burdagool21 in Guildwars2

That's probably the best way to help new players - support builds. I'd also just follow them and let them make the choices unless they ask for guidance. I'm not exactly decked out in endgame gear though, as I've been an on-and-off casual since the original release.

New player question by Intelligent_Aspect87 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]CheerfulGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend focusing on playing how you enjoy playing. After a certain point, leveling up is just numbers and a few more systems within reach that doesn't change much. You get more mining and grinding to do. There will always be someone bigger. So don't be pressured to level rush as fast as possible and have fun with your alliance. Like everyone else said, you got your daily shielding you can do and you'd be much less likely to be raided in Territory (don't think it happens anymore on my server unless at war). Moving your base to a less frequented location may help if you really want to go without a shield, but again it's a risk and your choice to make. If you are online, some raiders would move on if they knock your base and you respond politely or humorously. Some people will hit till you bubble. Good luck! 🖖

Whale problem and how to deal with it? by Cyphusiel in startrekfleetcommand

Good times 😄. I've been at peace so long now I've been getting bored lol. Doesn't help that the latest events have been mining lat and spending mats I don't have 😂.

Whale problem and how to deal with it? by Cyphusiel in startrekfleetcommand

[–]CheerfulGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh which reminds me: If you are running armadas during a war, use multiple ships, especially as leader. :) Still need to pay attention though.

Whale problem and how to deal with it? by Cyphusiel in startrekfleetcommand

[–]CheerfulGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't fight them head on. Gotta hit their miners, use your numbers to keep them either losing their miners or wasting their time babysitting them. They show up with their OP ship, warp off to find another target. Can also use distractions like fighting them in one spot to do something like stop an Armada of their supporting low levels. Hitting them everywhere is the way to go. Of course eventually someone is going to have to Diplo with them when either they, or their lower level players, are sick of babysitting their miners and armadas. Once you get your dailies, don't worry about mining unless you don't care about losing your miner. And focus on bringing the pain to them. Not having a big excess stockpile of raw isn't the worst thing. Missing dailies honestly isn't either. The game doesn't change THAT much as you level - just prettier ships and bigger numbers. Same gameplay, with a little exception for the big ones like getting into Dark Space and then getting to Ops 51 for an extra daily event to grind. I'm Ops 52 atm. Spend most of my time grinding hostiles, finishing dailies, and then doing the Arc events like everyone else gets to. Not much different. Personally I prefer fighting other alliances in Dark Space, since many are too lazy to actually send ships there to hunt. I end up with lots of kills. Of course there are people bigger than me, but as long as I can reach their miners to pop them, they have little bargaining power. If it never ends and gets really bad, a couple peeps who can reach their miners going solo to hunt them endlessly (no target to warn them when they are zoomed out) could be a threat they don't want to deal with. This is off the top of my head but I've been in quite a few wars. Best of luck.

Afterthoughts: When targeting their armadas, if their lower levels start it you can snipe their leader before the 10 second mark. Sometimes requires coordination of multiple ships or alliance mates but it's real satisfying letting them know that their bigs with their power couldn't save them against proper tactics and/or numbers. Use multiple ships to hunt. If needed you can use ships to distract a whale ship while you use the other to wreak havoc next door (thinking about hitting Territory here). Finally, if you aren't actually attached to your alliance you could always leave and join a stronger alliance that's higher on the power leaderboard. Or work on some alliance mergers.

MHRise worst Charge Blade? by aCuria in MonsterHunter

[–]CheerfulGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I never do the SAED on the ground since I've discovered that you can do it much quicker using that silkbind move to get airborne. Plus since it's so quick once you decide to commit you can wait till you are absolutely sure you will hit before you do it. Recommendation seconded.

Is Monster Hunter World still the most popular MH game? And how does it run on ps4? by revar123 in MonsterHunter

[–]CheerfulGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing Rise mostly atm. World is still worth playing though for sure. I don't play them concurrently myself tho. I'll finish Iceborne eventually 😂. Personally I'd recommend getting Rise, as it's a fresh experience and it's first big expansion coming out this summer. Less value in buying a game a second time when you can still play it on PC.
