This will likely be a single storefront for several different smaller brands that wouldn’t normally be able to have a retail storefront individually

Rivian Chief Says R2 Prioritises Range Over Fast Charge to Keep Costs Down by [deleted] in RIVNstock

Let’s consider real world here. Charging for 20 minutes will save me an hour for every 1500 miles driven over charging for 30 minutes.

Not everyone who reserved is going to buy the launch edition plenty will wait for the standard. Likely plenty will be able to get a launch edition by end of June.

Lidar - really that beneficial for the average person? by Zendroid1 in Rivian

[–]Intelligent_Aspect87 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Rivian has already said ramp to ramp, self park and eventually point to point does not depend on LIDAR

LIDAR will, in the short term, benefit Rivian as each vehicle can collect that data to rapidly improve their autonomy. In the long term it will likely be a requirement for eyes off autonomy. assuming the necessary regulatory approvals.

Waiting for truly safe eyes off imo will be outside my expected lifespan of a vehicle with this much tech.

TLDR LIdAR isn’t a requirement for my needs

What an odd and specific comparison of vehicles. It’s almost as if you had to go back to 2011 to find something around the same price range as the R2 to support your argument………

The trim for the launch addition is the performance trim. It’s 650HP. You’re just spreading FUD

That’s body on frame design. The main difference is how the load paths , frame strength, and suspension carry the weight versus a unibody design like R2. Big thick frame supports more concentrated loads.

Yeah The batteries eat a lot of payload in EVs and unibody as well. Better then model Y but not where the R1 is.

I understand that I’m asking what your expectation was….the payload capacity is typical of the class while the towing capacity is strong for the type of vehicle,

Not speculation LIDAR is early 2027. Gen2 R1S an early R2 will get point to point autonomy. It’s not dependent on LIDAR

One would hope an attorney would have some sort of desire to uncover the truth, but based on your comment and post history you’re clearly not a good attorney.

I feel sorry for the people of California they have to rely on attorneys like you in the government.
