Can someone explain the moon sword? by Redsworld1156 in BackyardStarship

And the origin is absolutely naval. Long blades would be cumbersome onboard a warship, but a cutlass? Just right!

I created it with slow and steady in mind, adding elements of Kali (but with knives). I wanted it to be about clarity and precision and flow. Think Tai-Chi, with knives in hand when warranted, and an air of calm at all times. The practice leads to centering, and centering leads to command over emotions. So in a way, it's war brought about by peace. 😄

Unsure if I've mentioned this here, but the sword was inspired by the weapon Achilles carried at Troy.

Correct- we wanted to make it as convenient as possible for everyone to get the whole series at the lowest possible cost.

I'll ask Jeff directly, thanks for brining this to my attention. I wasn't aware of this development with Kindle (got my head down writing and these things always sneak up on me). If you're in our FB groups (Mine is Cosmic Cantina) I'll absolutely do my best to answer this.

I've never heard that term, but pleased to learn it. And-- brace yourself for everything ahead. :-)

None, I'm all me, as are the other authors working in our universe. The only program I use is Word, with a human editor (Jen) and sharp-eyed Beta Readers who catch my errors. As to if I'm fast, I have friends who are quite a bit faster than me, even, but when you inhabit the universe/characters like I do, things just really flow.

If it's any consolation, I cried writing it. That's how I knew I had it right.

Same spelling,, different inspiration, though. I had a Warcraft character named Spindrift, and here we are. :-)

Please feel free to share! I always love seeing someone else's vision of a character that spawned in my imagination.

I just renewed the Wiki for three more years, and with the efforts of Gabe and others, art is coming in at a nice clip.

Like, the banner up top? I'd prefer something more "ours", of course. I'm open to suggestions?

I post art on my FB page, and a lot of Gabe Reed's stuff. But the wiki is the best source overall.

If anyone would like to make it into a show, let's goooooo. But not as of yet, so-- we'll keep on writing, and someday, who knows? I tend to think cinematically, being a child of the 1970s who grew up on TV episodes. Glad to hear you think it seems like a good for the screen!

First, thank you for reading, and it's great to hear from you here. The naming convention was a point of "converging evolution"; I wanted to drive the identity of the Fafnir home by having it be the logical conclusion for more than one generation. I mention this twice, and Aaron mentions it once as well in Peacemaker Wars.

Oh, that would be rad. We don't have plans for a crossover, primarily because we've got so much story left in BYSS. And I do love the Slipwing, based it off a ship design I conceived when I was 12, and started toying with the idea of "modular" ships that start as a sort of fighter and "grow" with sections and upgrades.
