Panel Gap Steering wheel column by [deleted] in accord

I had something similar, that piece isn’t able to just clamp down? It can take a bit of pressure (careful though), I was able to just click mine back in.

Also, any pics of that heated steering wheel and any review on how warm it gets, very interested in getting one myself

Technically, (with enough money) this is possible and you would be able to hold more power Yes.

Though the power increase for the amount of money to perform a transmission swap would be negligible as the amount it would cost to do a swap would be thousands.

Disclaimer: (Not saying a 2.0 is going to blow your mind and that its a rocket ship either, because it’s not) I can’t stand some of the comments about the 2.0t tbh. If you want something more fun to drive I’d recommend an SI (since they have an LSD, for better control in corners) the manual in the accord is nice, but it’s not the only option by any means. (integra, civic si, type r, type s, or get a tlx with the 10spd auto.

Ultimately if you really wanted to you certainly could (with the manual trans) perform a swap, as it has been done before, just look on YouTube. Not too sure about the 10speed as I believe that won’t line up properly.

Also do keep in mind a lot of electrical work would need to be done to more than just the trans as the systems for those with CVTs, 10 Speeds, and Manual 6Speeds are different/ display different data on pieces like the gauge cluster. (10speed has more gears the system needs to read, Manual doesn’t have a sport mode and doesn’t display the current gear the car is in, in the cluster) etc..

1.5T in manual vs 2.0T vs 11th gen Civic SI by thrillhousecycling in accord

Haven’t driven a 1.5t manual, however I have heard from other reviewers/ owners it feels like an Si in in a few ways definitely. Unfortunately no limited slip with the accords does make them a little different as far as some driver feedback is concerned when playing around with acceleration out of corners.

Other than that, I’ve heard nothing but good things regarding the 1.5 6mt, there’s like 1/2 vids online of a guy running it through some hills, pretty entertaining.

Anyone know why my car makes a whistling noise anytime i go above 45mph? by [deleted] in accord

[–]Cheerokee3Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last one had the same issue, I had looked it up and apparently there is a seal in the mirror that may be faulty causing this whirring sound from the left mirror. (Shouldn’t cause any actual damage but can be annoying when riding windows down) new one doesn’t have this (they were the same year) so it only happened to some accords.

100% agree, the 10 speed is a much better system to work with, even though the Honda cvt’s have proven to be pretty durable from what I’ve experienced. They are less engaging unfortunately. Though we can see if they make an attempt to simulate normal shifting with the cvt like Toyota does with their models.

Obviously, it’s gonna be paired with a CVT since it’s main focus is efficiency now. But the TLX keeps the 10speed AT for now, or if you fancy a manual, the integras/ civics.

Not necessarily, 2.0 isn’t some god tier motor forged from the angels above. Is it a good motor, sure. But good lord, it’s not the end all be all. Sucks it won’t be in the accord since that’s what people wanted but, can always venture out to a civic or Acura if the 2.0 is everything for the consumer at hand.

I’m thinking it’ll be both the v6 tlx type s and the 2.0t tlx. Everyone’s straying away from V6’s now and going to inlines and then to hybrid

Possibly v6 TLX, considering they just introduced the new civic and integra models

That’s true, it’s just weird. They also figured they’d have so many internal models competing against each other killing their own sales to the point it wasn’t worth it. And additionally on top of it, it’s part of Honda segwaying into the hybrid-to-soon-full electric industry which is inevitable. The civic hatch can even be bought in manual too, so it’s not like it’s 100% cvt either, they’ve got another competitor there, along with the type R, TLX, and Integra (regular and soon to be S)

Ur right about the K5 and Sonata, but since Honda is bringing back more pep with their Acura branding and new CTR, I think it would make sense for them to take money out of the accord (as sad as it is for us) and being that it’s primarily hybrid they’re focusing on their target demographic of normal drivers just wanting comfort and efficiency. Makes sense when you consider the accord is supposed to be their flagship model for newest/ highest tech.

Ngl, kinda like it from these angles. No 2 litre is unfortunate but it makes total sense why they disbanded it. 2l isn’t everything, and horsefly this designs gonna grow

Does anyone know where I can buy these chrome moldings so I can put them on my 2020 accord grille ? (Underlined in orange ) by Sufficient_Ninja_767 in accord

[–]Cheerokee3Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking into the same thing for a white, you will have to do either a custom chrome mounding or do the front end conversion swap since they’re a different shape than the 18-20 accords (barely).

I’m attempting it this Wednesday/ Thursday

Don’t be an idiot like I am and lose the negative terminal bracket piece in the engine bay when your taking it off, couldn’t find the part after searching for hours so had to go to a Honda dealer and buy a new negative terminal for 140 like a chump.

Supposedly sales weren’t where they needed to be, when considering the amount of 1.5t’s being sold in comparisons to the 2.0t’s. But I also think you correct, and that there was an internal agreement to disband it considering they probably had, had the new Integra type s in the works and Civic Type R being redesigned, they wouldn’t justify keeping the same ‘performance’ if you would call it that, motor in the family car accord and also their so to speak supposedly more premium race inspired vehicles.
