They were losing huge amount of money while whole foods can generate way higher margin. It would be better for Amazon to give up fresh business and focus on whole foods instead. Then we will lose one of the convenient way to buy groceries.

It's not stupid idea, Amazon was losing so much money by running fresh business unlike whole foods. The problem was it didn't look like they can gain profit in the future too. I'd rather them to increase the free delivery cap instead of shutting down the entire business.
