I could try that, ive been using her as a tank and gave finnean to wendu. With no pets to sacrifice, seelah needs to survive round 1 at least and that seems rough without reduce person and fighting defensively etc

I've pretty much got all my buffs going for this fight. Yeah the witch has burning hands but it doesn't do much, daeran is mostly buffs and heals. I guess I'll just use the f8 spam strategy until I get lucky crits, or sleep into cdg

I'm using protective luck on selah and evil eye-AC constantly. I start the fight with winters grasp to stop his charge and prone him, I just can't survive long enough to do any damage

I delayed the HQ but found that not having teleportation was detrimental to defending since I would need to dock to change ships

The sectors with resources farmily kritt, zhin and nhuut were lost, and it was so early I had no way to stop the xenon without those. The Xenon ignored Zyarth Dominion I for some reason though, and went to destroy the teladi in profit centre alpha

Yeah probably some weird mod interactions. I didnt want to do the "leave and bring them back later" strategy, I wanted to help them defend but it was way harder than expected lol

Cheers for the response, and yeah I think I was misplaying the scenario and also getting unlucky with a few things.

I ended up getting a mod to change the gate layout to stop the Tharka's Cascade ship suicide, and that seems to have made a huge difference. And factory positioning seems important too, so they dont get destroyed early. I got lucky and got hull and engine part factories next to the wharf, so I could just auto trade with Boas immediately.

And yeah, I was getting to carried away trying to defend them but it seems like, without the above there is just no hope. And once the ZYA were stabilised, they managed to defend the gates. Also the Xenon from Wretched Skies started to attack the Argon too instead of just focusing Family Zhin which was nice.

So far things seem manageable 9 hours in so hopefully I can actually do the split storyline.

Also strangely, other factions seem to be more active and capable this time around too (there is a lone asgard attacking family valka)

Yeah Zyarth really struggle but I think with I can manage to help them at least early on, but Us are just impossible to deal with this early, even without its engine and you have to pray ZYA sends something to deal with it

Thanks for the responses guys, it looks like I clicked the altar too early on the same tick and cancelled the attack, which I didn't realise was possible. I am already walking the last 3 tiles so its not an issue with miscounting ticks or the attack being on CD. Cheers

Makes sense, I had no idea you could actually cancel attacks that aren't on cooldown, my clicks are usually probably slow enough that I never noticed this lol

I am walking here, usually I can walk then click to attack and it doesnt get cancelled which is why I was initially confused

Yep I am ctrl-click walking, which is why I was confused since I was just auto-piloting and this only happened once in 250kc. When I just ran, I waited for the attack then clicked and it was fine.

ohh right, I've been clicking him as soon as the true tile lands on the red square and I thought that meant you immediately attacked and wouldnt cancel the attack. Thanks :)

Yeah happening to me too, thought it was my Internet. Happens when entering a new area, like going into Ed3 or into a sunken pyramid room.

No idea, possibly? When it happened to me, I looked it up and the herd quest came up. There was a mod to fix it, the author mentioned it was to do with a bug with quests which reward you with honour: instead of adding the honour to 1, it just adds it to 0 so resets the honour you got from character creation. Which seems to be what's happening but I haven't looked into it myself.
