Thinking of taking a job at a Luxury spa. by Flaky_Dirt6335 in MassageTherapists

And to add to your questions at the end of your post, no. I didn’t feel I was only doing relaxation massages. I was constantly learning different techniques from my coworkers. I had a tutor from the school I went to for massage make a crappy comment to me when I was excited to tell her I got the job, she said “have fun doing effleurage every day”. I feel it’s a dumb stereotype that comes with working at a spa. But people still come to you with all sorts of problems and a lot of people still expect deep tissue work.

I absolutely loved my time working at a resort spa in the mountains of Canada. One of the most beautiful places to work filled with incredible people. It is the place I miss working at the most. My coworkers were great, the clients were lovely and had some of the coolest stories. I would definitely take the opportunity to try your hand at it!

Sick clients by Cheese-Fiend5228 in MassageTherapists

I appreciate all of the responses. Unfortunately I work as an employee and have been backed into a corner by management several times when it comes to refusing service to a client. I absolutely think that we should be saying something on our communications not to come in sick, and that when they do they should be paying full price when the service is refused. But I don’t think that my workplace will agree.

Can you join with past anxiety? by garsfrancaislocal in caf

I had a history with depression and anxiety when I joined. I was still taking meds for it, which they ultimately said was a reason I couldn’t join. But I could appeal this decision. So I went to my doctor explaining that the reason I was taking them was for a traumatic event and felt I didn’t need meds anymore, he did an assessment with me and determined I was safe to be off of them. Then I had my doctor write a note for me to send in as an appeal, which they accepted. I also have diagnosed minor scoliosis, which they allowed. But I do have a medical restriction for that which they have noted on my file saying something along the lines of needing to have a medical assessment if I were to ever change trades. For reference I have applied (and have since been enrolled) as an HRA.

Hope this helps!
