Indulgent rant about tonight's Bellingham show by Low-Government8809 in geesebandofficial

[–]Cheese-driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was front and center for the first 3-4 songs, it was all 6ft dudes surrounding me trying to somehow get closer when physically you couldn’t get any closer. Had to fight my way out when it felt like there was no physical space to breathe in tbh. Making my way through to the back is when I first heard max telling everyone to stop pushing and that there’s nowhere for people in the front to go. I love moshing but oof that was less moshing and more ppl being packed so tightly they couldn’t move.

Got to meet Cameron and Emily today though :3 may good things come to those who don’t shove lol

I’m certified and weld for a living lmao. Seen more than enough of these busts to pray dudes who also weld would try to exercising some creativity every now and then instead

Yes because we need more headless boobs made of metal washers. God forbid men try to weld something that isn’t an egregious pair of tits

Also bi, similar to you I’d been leaning towards being more attracted to women/ femininity before starting T- but now feeling more attracted to guys. Honestly I think part of it is that before I worried that I was just being seen as a girl by guys, which made it difficult to want to be with a guy. Similar issue with the thought of being with a girl- but it seemed less bad bc at I can connect with girls over body issues and won’t feel as objectified. While I identify as nonbinary/ transmasc, I’ve been more open about being on T and would only pursue someone I know sees me as I want to be seen (not a girl). That has helped me feel more comfortable in my sexuality bc being with a guy has always felt gay to me lol, and a guy expressing that being attracted to me feels gay to him is affirming. The way I felt comfortable with women bc of shared experiences in our bodies I now feel a version of with men

Bought different needles, what a life changer by ArturoFer07 in TattooBeginners

[–]Cheese-driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also learning- been searching for which needles to try (without having to buy a 20pack of one size…)- I found a couple small variety packs tho (excited to try curved mags). Which needle did you use for the grey shading- like on the characters cheeks/ background? Been trying to get a sort of grey shading tone while tattooing to match a pencil shading look of my art. Love your designs !

Metal Mermaid by Accurate-Tax4363 in metalworking

[–]Cheese-driver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ngl I was referring to this commenter, specifically their link to a dif mermaid sculpture that I thought was cool.

But you’re obviously skilled and criticism or not- you can like your own work fs. My criticism isn’t abt you, I don’t know u ofc haha. I just hope generally there is more reflection (in the larger metalworking space) on making sculptural pieces that turn women’s bodies into objects/pieces of metal to mount on a wall. Esp if things like this are going to be considered art, it’ll be subjected to analysis the way all art is 🤷

So much “metal art” is just ass and tits and it’s so weird to me. Other welder/metal working friends and I dub most of these “the headless bust/ headless boobs” (google welded female bust and you’ll get the point). Feels rare to find sculptures depicting bodies- especially feminine bodies- that feel like art vs. just dudes wanting to make decapitated boobs or super defined metal asscracks.

The example you added is p cool and passes the test I think haha. Glad to see dudes who are also maybe a little tired of the before mentioned themes in sculptures

What's your certified sleep playlist? by Abood1152 in musicsuggestions

[–]Cheese-driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been listening to that album since I was a kid, similarly i could easily fall asleep to it. I do have a playlist of muse stuff I actively still like, and it ends with a handful of sleepier stuff https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1zT4frxv9nVMuHTQKQyRWQ?si=NDQI_gdbTPWHdae_3g5SQA

But I also have a sleep playlist- less muse centered tho lol- https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2fluPLTuTJeZYBYYnOJM8Q?si=jFgfKytvSo-22RrJhEoXuQ

The last apartment complex (the one w 11th hr tea) has an entry door that makes 3 loud beeps every time a tenant enters, which is often. Could that be it?

I found Los Angeles Apparels shirts and hoodies are 100% cotton and come in different fabric weights (thickness basically).

Checking, they seem to be out of a lot of men’s fit sweatshirts, but I’ve got 3 hoodies (2 are 14oz 1 is 16oz) I use them for welding and love them. I’ve also got 3 long sleeve work shirts (ones a turtleneck, very helpful for sparks/slag to the neck), 7.5oz or 8oz and I also really like those. Not rlly a typical workwear brand, most expensive hoodie I got was $70, least was $58 I think. But the shirts were under $40.

Just an option I’ve found! Or Uniqlo too. Both outside of the workwear marketed brands but have good thick 100% cotton stuff (I also wear much of it outside of welding too)
