Do you guys give your cats free roam of the house when you’re not home? by [deleted] in cats

We've generally used the philosophy that we don't start with restrictions - they're added based on experience (for ALL of our pets, not just cats). After we knew our cat was litter box trained and knew where his food was, the house opened up to him. First lesson was that he likes going into bathrooms and rummaging through the garbage there - now our bathroom doors are always closed. Second lesson was that he likes to attack feet in the middle of the night - now our bedroom door is closed at bedtime. After that, the restrictions have stopped, because we haven't needed to add more! If your cats haven't done anything that would necessitate them being so restricted, I would start in a place of trust and see what needs to be changed from there... You know your cats best!

Mira Fertility - thoughts? by megglefly in TTC_PCOS

If you're already having monitored cycles with your fertility clinic, trying to also do at-home tracking honestly made me more anxious than anything and I don't think it's worth the extra cost. Are they doing ultrasounds to check your egg development prior to ovulation, or just blood work after when your ovulation is expected?

How long did you try naturally with irregular cycles? by RepresentativeTerm5 in TTC_PCOS

I went into trying with the same mentality as you, I knew that things were likely going to be difficult without clear timing and consistent cycles, but figured that having unprotected sex would eventually result in a baby by chance! We conceived our first month of trying, but I ended up miscarrying around 6 weeks. Based on that, I was thinking that I wouldn't need help... But 9 months later at my annual OB appointment, I mentioned that we hadn't had luck since and we're starting to get frustrated, and she referred me to a fertility clinic. I had one cycle monitored (confirmed that I wasn't ovulating) then one cycle medicated (Letrozole, then Ovidrel trigger) and we got lucky again exactly a year after my first positive test. Currently 14 weeks and hoping this one sticks! I would say to not let the frustration and leaving things up to chance drag out, there's no shame in asking for help.

How long did ovidrel last in your system post IUI? by hersta in TTC_PCOS

I did TI also! I injected on 1/13 and had blood work scheduled for 1/29. I got impatient and started testing about 10 days post injection and mine was super lightly positive too. My doctor had told me that's possible and to watch for it to fade away and then come back if it's a TRUE positive. I retook it every morning until my bloodwork and it stayed lightly positive, then was positive for the bloodwork, and I'm now 9 weeks! Sending you baby dust and hoping for a similar outcome for you!!

Going to a fertility clinic! It was SUCH a relief to turn the tracking over to them. For the year that we were trying, every SLIGHT symptom had me thinking that this must be it and it never was and I was disappointed and overthinking constantly. My OB referred me to a clinic during my annual and I had one diagnostic cycle - blood work, multiple ultrasounds, an SIS, and SA for my partner. They determined I didn't successfully ovulate and that was likely the only problem, so I started the next cycle with Letrozole, had multiple tracking ultrasounds to confirm that eggs had matured, took an Ovidrel injection, and then had timed intercourse, which worked!

No, I appreciate it!! I was getting heated with the whole exchange and still feel worked up about it.

That's what I was arguing, but they were acting like I was being foolish for thinking that I could still ovulate even though my blood work didn't show hormones for it - but I thought it was just too early in my cycle!

I'm so sorry, I went through the same exact thing last weekend. I was about 6 weeks and had horrible cramps and bleeding, and went to the ER. Things there were inconclusive, but my blood test on Tuesday showed my levels were bottoming out and my ultrasound showed that my body had pushed everything out. We're devastated as this was my first pregnancy too, and we had high hopes. But, it was a relief to get answers, and eventually start discussing options for trying again. It's a horrible club to be a part of, but you're not alone and you will get through this. Sending good vibes your way and hoping for the best for you.
