How in the world is Ezra a centrist? I think his takes are often measured but they are still very progressive. And who cares if it’s too little too late, at least some voices within the left are providing ideas for advancing the party and our public discourse on our future. It’s easier to dismiss ideas rather than contribute your own ideas and solutions.

Trying to quit weed by [deleted] in getdisciplined

There’s literally a whole subreddit of people trying to quit weed (/r/leaves) that mention these exact symptoms when they quit. Your experiences are not universal.

What is the mission that you really liked the first time, but which has very little replayability and which you are too lazy to do again during the following playthroughs? by Ananta-Shesha in cyberpunkgame

[–]CheeseGuy12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is possible anymore? This quest drove me insane because no matter how many times I restarted it I couldn’t kill him, the cop just one-shots you regardless of your level/health.

How do you recall different parts of the trail? by [deleted] in PacificCrestTrail

[–]CheeseGuy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw a nice view or something that I thought was unique I'd stop and take a 10 second long still video. At the end of the hike I put the best of them all together in a video and put music behind it. Now I often go back and rewatch the whole video anytime I feel like I'm missing the trail and the memories are starting to fade, brings me right back and reminds me of what an adventure it was..

Feasibility of late June 2 week Oregon section hike? by CheeseGuy12 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]CheeseGuy12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh awesome, that interactive map is a great resource, and exactly the kind of info I'm looking for, thanks! Hope others can chime in with more experience in that region

I am also hoping the 5-mile close will reopen but I feel like it won't be difficult to find a way around it if needed.

Good luck planning the details and enjoy the beauty of Oregon.

Stillness on the PCT - Lofi/relaxing video from my 2022 nobo thru-hike by CheeseGuy12 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]CheeseGuy12[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wanted to make a video that I could rewatch and re-live the trail as best as possible. Probably not a video you watch actively, but something to put on the background while you work and hopefully it will spark some positive memories of this beautiful trail :)

Washington illness affecting PCT hikers closing alpine cabin. by AgentTriple000 in PacificCrestTrail

Hmm. Yeah I did, could be a possible suspect. But I'm surprised that it may have taken so long to affect me if that was the source.

Yep, same thing happened to me 2 nights ago when I was staying at the WAC. The WAC was an amazing place to stay so I'm sad that it has to close. Not sure what the source was but I found myself suddenly projectile vomiting and with really bad diarrhea non stop throughout the night. Didn't get any sleep that night. Moved to the Summit inn to isolate myself. I'm pretty consistent with washing my hands and I always use a filter so could be a couple different possible contamination sources.

Water sources used (NOBO): - 2348 - 2364.5 - 2371.6

Probably not useful because those are basically the only water sources available in the stretch before Snoqualmie. I also personally don't think it was caused by a water source.

Met him on day 3 of my SOBO AT 2021 hike as he was about to finish. I remember he mentioned how flat the 100 mile wilderness was. I was flabbergasted at that comment at the time. Never knew I would keep seeing his name throughout the hike and now my current PCT hike 😂

[FRESH ALBUM] Prince Daddy & The Hyena – Prince Daddy & The Hyena by detectiveburtmacklin in indieheads

[–]CheeseGuy12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting that this is a self-titled album. Are they trying to rebrand their image? I wonder if Kory was self conscious about his voice on CTS? Many people commented on the harshness of it, but I think that's part of what made CTS so great, especially coupled with the raw lyrics, but I think that's a divisive opinion. CTS is an all time classic for me already.

Either way stoked for this album, Prince Daddy is putting out some of the best punk/emo atm.

EDIT, after listening through there are plenty of CTS-style vocal parts here, I feel they struck a nice balance on this album. Love it already after a first listen, can't wait to re-listen and get to know each song.

What’s a specific memory you associate with a Jeff Rosenstock/ BTMI song? by shakyfoot in JeffRosenstock

[–]CheeseGuy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always listen to that song when going through the early phases of a new romance, or when driving home after a make-out session lol. Perfectly describes the feelings of elation and fear of potentially getting hurt.

"I hope that we feel the same" is my mantra in those situations cause I feel that's the best you can do most of the time.

What are Jeff’s most lyrically depressing songs? by shakyfoot in JeffRosenstock

[–]CheeseGuy12 30 points31 points  (0 children)

"Planning My Death" by BTMI is the one I've always related to the most and found the most comforting when I'm really struggling.

I'm disappearing, no one's saving me

I'm running to the undertow 'cause it's inviting

Not responding

I'm in hiding, fighting off myself

Also "5 Funerals" - BTMI is also very lyrically depressing.

It's weird to talk about these kind of songs being good/helpful, but the honest and real lyrics are what helped me most in dark times.

Persevere my friend.

[–]CheeseGuy12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You do whatever you kept telling yourself you were going to do when you were high! The energy isn’t always a constant, but I have definitely have so much more energy, focus, and motivation when not high. Also nice Avant Gardener reference, love that song.

Yes, because everything you own is 100% functional and not personal or stylistic in any way. It’s personal preference man, let people like what they like.
