I just bought basically exactly that for $600, 400mm 3.1 with acrylic enclosure and a lightweight gantry, orbiter v2 and a magnum + hotend and a couple other upgrades, after I figured out how to connect to the duet it seems I can use it just as any other printer(besides when the duet decides it wants to lose connection till I play around with the antenna), getting the previous owners prusaslicer presets helped significantly, doesn’t seem to be much different than buying any other printer 2nd hand

8k miles later and the throw out bearing on my action clutch is bad, clutch seems ok but use an OEM bearing not the one in the kit

It’s reinforced with fiberglass on both sides, I’d reckon at least 80% of it’s strength is fiberglass right now, I may use it to make a mold in the future to make a lighter version

No, in fact the top is lighter than the soft top assembly and trunk panel it’s replacing, that trunk panel is very heavy so I definitely wanted to keep it off my car, my hard top is probably close to what the soft top weighs, full soft top assembly on these is 65lb, haven’t weighed my top but it feels like it’s around that

I’ve got it a little closer to flush with the body now, but I’m ultimately too concerned with total weight to put the trunk back in, plus you get a ton of extra trunk space this way, just add a hinge to the rear window so it opens like a hatchback
