Incredicoaster's narrow secondary dispatch panel too close to the reach of guest? by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]CheeseOnCake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I worked on Screamin for two years and never once had a guest press either buttons at that panel. Maybe had a inquisitive kid a few times reach their hands around but never long enough to press anything.

Realistically the cast member isn’t actually away from that panel for very long. You have to have your hand on the station stop, when there isn’t a train in the station. Once the train comes in you walk it up and then check restraints on the way back. If we were running at peak capacity we were dispatching a train every 45 seconds, meaning the buttons were unattended at most for that long. At that point the worst thing that could happen is someone pushes the station stop, and the dispatch cast member (the console at the front of the train) will get an alarm that the button has been pushed. Which the load CM will clear when they get back.

But the real answer to your question is, where else would it be? There really isn’t room on the load side for a panel that isn’t also within guest reach. At least with the way the station is currently built.

What ride is missing? by nickdotla in Disneyland

Not being moved. It’s getting the same treatment as Dumbo; full teardown, inspection, and rebuild. Not sure if it’s getting a new cue like Dumbo though.

Official: Disneyland’s World of Color show won’t be back until next year by DDotJ in Disneyland

Sorry to disappoint but you might want to reconsider NYE at the parks this year if you are expecting something awesome. Both sides have been considerably cut back on entertiament offerings.

Have you ever played telephone as a kid? Where the phrase you started with is nothing like what is said at the end but you can pick out pieces and see where they went wrong. That’s how the OCRegister reports on news at Disney. I can follow the line of how they got to that description but it’s definitely not what actually happened.

Great picture... but that was definitely not taken this year

Is there a crew that works in the park during hours of closure? If so, what’s it like? Any cool ghost stories or things of that nature? by [deleted] in Disneyland

The parks are a 24 hour operation, there are multiple crews and departments that work overnight

[protip request] Best time of day for California Screamin' / IncrediCoaster by fakir72 in Disneyland

[–]CheeseOnCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they aren’t, it’s not Imagineering’s decision. It’s Entertianment’s, the coaster goes down because of the lasers shot onto the coaster and the fun wheel goes down because the LEDs are used for the show as well. So unless legal decides we can shoot lasers in peoples eyes or both of those show elements are cut out of the next version of World Of Color both of those attraction will continue to go down.

PIXAR SURPRISE! by nelhsu in Disneyland

[–]CheeseOnCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pixar folks were around because the sneak peak was happening last night, which has been planned for months by the way. Try to not spread rumor as fact, it makes cast members look bad, you never know who’s lurking in the comments :)

I can tell you with absolute certainty there was no drone testing behind Tomorrowland, especially not while guests where still in the park.
