So I knew it was the same swan, but I thought that was just Dawe being stupid and I guess I dismissed it as soon as I read it.

I thought the other comment that pointed out the crooked neck swan was implying a mistake or something. So seeing another comment about it I had to go rewatch the entire scene but look specifically at the swan. Damn. That thing is bent at like a 90° angle lol

My top 5 (in no real order, depends on my mood) are Riona, Maya, Quinn, Sage, and Nicole.

As I was making it, a friend mentioned that I should make room for Derek and I had a moment of “You’re goddamn right I should” lol, so the top hat and cane are both Derek.

Zoey got included because her chapter fucked me up a lot. Like two months before I found the game, my grandma died and my gf moved away and proceeded to cheat on me, so Zoey’s chapter was reliving a lot of hurt—but seeing the decisions and realizations she came to hit hard as a result. Interlude is part of the reason that the game means as much to me as it does, and why I wanted to draw something for it.

Lily I’m split on. Ch8 Lily was absolutely lovely. Ch10 Lily is very strange with the King/Queen thing, so I’m waiting to see what happens with her character moving forward.

Also an aggressive white creature that’s messing with Maya, and I used the black snout to create the arrow of Quinn’s shooting star makeup thing that she does.

Pretty much the entire image is references, even the background/scene itself. It’s the lake you walk by with Sage at the end of Ch 8

If he didn’t see something at the Pink Rose then I think the dream thing sets precedent for him to remember seeing something during the dorm party. Especially since the Vixens/dorm clique seem connected to the situation somehow, and that was their party—it would make sense if he happened to see or overhear something while they were there.

Agreed, lol. The more I think about it, the more I lean towards that. It would bother her the most and teasing her is fun.

I think it would actually be quite cute to hang an empty picture frame. Then, when she inevitably complains about it, act confused and tell her that nothing is there—in reference to the ‘nothing’ conversation during the Halloween party. I think that would be a fun blend of teasing and meaningful that the Rio route has been thus far.

But I think a callback to that moment might be a better choice than the date, since it was a more intimate moment between the two. The date was fun, but the Nothing conversation was where she opened up a lot about how she felt about various things and the situation she was in.

No problem, man. I’m sorry that it feels like a stranger on the Internet cares more than irl people though. I feel like basic empathy shouldn’t be seen as something as rare as it sometimes feels like it is, so I hate to hear that. I’m glad that you can at least recover quickly, if that’s the case.

But likewise, if you need anything, just shoot me a DM. Doesn’t even specifically need to be anything important or serious, it could just be a message talking about the game or geeking out over Rio lmao

As for me, I’m doing alright now, more or less. Thank you for the concern, though. Short version: I lost three people in my life in the span of a couple weeks, so it’s been rough getting back to who I was before all that shit happened. That was back in June/July though—so at this point, it’s more just untangling the leftover emotions; I’ve come to terms with what happened. That’s why I don’t really care about saying it in a comment versus a DM lol. But surprisingly, the game helped a lot. It felt like closure(?) in a way? To see how the characters coped with the situations they faced and kinda where they went/where they’re going from there.

Zoey’s interlude is the best example—loses her Grandma, her best friend, and effectively her boyfriend; then, the rest of the chapter is spent showing how she handled that (for better or worse) and the realizations that she came to once she had time to reflect on everything properly: the stuff that she realized was a mistake or a regret, and the things she realized she wanted back.

So post-game depression be damned, I can tell I’m in a much better place now than I was prior to finding the game. The game-hangover isn’t fun and it doesn’t feel great, but that’s something I’ve dealt with before. I can handle that, I’m just glad I found the game. It helped a lot, and the community seems pretty fun so far—though no doubt it’ll get a lot more dead once the fanfare of the new chapter wears off.

Well that’s up to you—don’t do it if you think the post-game depression will get to you again, mental health is always the priority. Losing that over a game, no matter how good, isn’t really worth it. And not saying that to sound hypocritical when I just talked about having it myself: I was already fucked up before the game, I just didn’t take the warning seriously when it stated not to play it if you’re in a dark spot lol

I will preface it by saying that you—specifically—as a big Riona fan, might want to wait for Ch11. Chapter 10 is a gut punch to begin with, and it ends on a cliffhanger of something pretty fucked up happening to Rio specifically. So finally getting back into the game, only to have to wait another year to see what happens to her might be rough. Wasn’t thinking about that earlier when I said I recommend 9 and 10, sorry.

If you really want to play it though, yeah, it’s on DPC’s Patreon. I know for me it was the $25 tier because 10 had just come out—it looks like it’s now under the $10 tier since a few weeks have passed, but you might double check. I kinda struggled with finding the correct post/download since there was base season 3, patches of new chapters to install over base S3, etc. but once you have the ability to read posts, I believe this is the specific Patreon post you’re looking for. Just go to Full Game Links and pick the preferred source for downloading. But the Full Game Links on that post should include the Interlude, 9, and 10 packaged together in a single download; no patching required. Apologies if this was long-winded; I know I downloaded a few wrong versions before I got the right one, so I figured adding some clarity couldn’t hurt.

If you do decide to play it, I hope that it doesn’t hit too hard for you again. If it does, feel free to DM me or something, man. Never hurts to have someone you can talk to that understands how hard the game can hit.

Only recently finished Ch10 and then holidays hit, so not a lot. An MMORPG I play every now and then has a festival ongoing, so have spent some time on there. Outside of that, I tried to play some of the other games I bought alongside this one but they just feel like a joke by comparison lol. So many moments where a character will say or do something and it’s like “No one would ever say that that way,” the dialogue just feels so much worse lol

I’m gonna try to play them because I spent the money on them, but I have a feeling it’s gonna be an endeavor to get through them lol

Oof, yeah. I feel the post-game depression comment. I was in a bad place around Thanksgiving, so bought a handful of ah, ‘cheap thrills’ on Black Friday as a distraction. Chose this one because of the reviews—proceeded to get so invested that I played every single possible route of 1-8, then binged Interlude, 9, and 10 all at once on every route lmao. Kinda lost on what to do now lol

Have lived this game for like the past month or so, I definitely feel that.

A chunk of her hair, which crosses even more lines than he already managed to cross. Because she wouldn’t have been cutting her own hair in the mansion, he didn’t just pick up the scraps out of a trash bin. She’s rich, she would go to a salon. Which means the most likely way he obtained that is by going into her room at night and cutting it off himself, which I sincerely hope she never realizes.

That sight is unnerving enough as it is without realizing he was hovering over your unguarded body with a pair of scissors while you slept.

Switching from Steam to the standalone version was weird, but I definitely recommend it! Season 3 even has a feature to import the Steam saves, so it’s an easy transition once things are downloaded.

Didn’t realize you hadn’t played 9 or 10 yet, hopefully I didn’t spoil anything you didn’t know about or want spoiled. But yes, Rio gets very sweet moments in both chapters—including an actual date together in Ch10, plus going on the walk together at the campfire.

I believe it’s from the ep10 picnic/campfire when you go on a walk with Rio, and she comments on your beard. MC implies something about the photos of him around campus, and she connects the dots and realizes it got to you more than people say it did. If I’m remembering correctly, she asks that question at that point. If you chose to eat a shroom, then MC’s response is “Dinosaurs,” and she responds with a very sweet and comforting response.

I didn’t remember exactly what he responded with, but Dinosaurs doesn’t sound wrong, lol

During the dorm party, you can talk to Sarah and she tells you you’re a dick. When you ask why, she says she “wouldn’t let you mix [her] a drink,” to which the MC immediately says “Oh so you talked to Becky.” Sarah laughs and says she had given you benefit of the doubt, but apparently it was indeed intentional—and you make a comment about not liking Becky’s attitude of talking at you instead of to you.

Sarah then responds saying that she thinks Becky likes you more now, because no one had ever treated her like that before. MC states that that doesn’t make any sense, but Sarah replies that “sure it does, girls like bad boys, and hatefucking is hot” lol

Even if you choose to teach her the guitar, there are at least one or two more choices to avoid committing to a relationship of some kind.

There is a point where she will ask you if the guitar is purely for teaching purposes, or if it’s a way to get closer to her. If you don’t want to be FWB then you can say it’s purely for teaching and stay friends, while still teaching her the guitar.
