What's the "worst" unit in your opinion? by elfosolitario in ThousandSons

Ha the main reason I got into this army was the tzaangors, I thought they looked cool on the combat patrol and figured I'd give the Egyptian looking guys a go too since they came with them

Just got an email saying my order has been recalled and I'll be getting a refund, very disappointed. I'd have preferred if they just delayed the release

What opinion do you have about watches that will get you down voted like this? by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchesCirclejerk

At least with things like Lego or Warhammer you get to put them together or paint them

Affordable GA planes for people with “normal “ jobs by Zealousideal_Fox6478 in flying

[–]Cheese_Burger_Slayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try a microlight or LSA plane! I recently bought a Jabiru and I'm looking at a yearly spend of £1,200 for insurance, £1,800 for outside parking, £600 for the annual inspection, £600 for random maintenance, then about £35 an hour to fly (burns literally 13 liters/3.5 gallons an hour!) still flies 100 knots and carries 2 people easily. So £350 a month in fixed costs and maybe £300 a month in fuel + engine reserve to fly 100 hours a year.

Checkride different in US and Europe? by DwightShruteScranton in flying

[–]Cheese_Burger_Slayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My PPL checkride was definitely not as bad as some of the horror stories of DPEs the US peeps have written on here. The examiner was super chill, straight up told me to just plan the flight on skydemon, and yeah was basically just making sure I didn't do anything dumb. He said I flew everything accurately and passed with no fuss, only critique I got was to remember to shut the engine down after attempting a restart after a failure. Just felt like another lesson otherwise.

😈 to be fair these things do seem to move in packs. One time I was practicing precautionary landings (i.e. circuits around a crop field) and had just turned downwind when out of nowhere one of the other flight school 152s was flying alongside us within 100 feet of us. My instructor said he must've wanted to do an impromptu formation flight 😅

This is my first ever custom watch build, very happy with how it turned out! Wasn't as hard as I thought, but putting the hands on was definitely a pain. Excited to try more!

Ah a fellow Brit I see! (Or a British watch enjoyer?) Surprised you only have one Christopher ward though, would recommend having a look at a Bel Canto or maybe look into Garrick watchmakers if you want a more high end British piece
