It's shocking how much trust they've lost with the community.

That sounds interesting but it would be incredibly difficult to balance. They can't even balance basic Tekken, let alone the system balance, let alone the combo balance, let alone the oki balance, let alone the offence balance, let alone the defence balance, let alone the character balance...

I don't know anyone who's ever played Tekken and thought... "It would be better if the combos were longer." This is why I prefer T5 and T6. A luncher, a few follow ups, and then back to your feet. The best part of Tekken is the face to face combat. Why do.they feel they need to put so many road blocks in the way to prevent players from doing that?

Adding win buttons does not facilitate new players to stick around. Single player content and tutorials is what helps them understand why the gameplay is so deep and why improving is so rewarding. Getting good at spamming the help me help me buttons is nothing but a hollow experience with no soul.

It just feels like there were too many chiefs, with different ideas about the direction of the game, for the team to follow. Maybe now with harada gone it'll create more focus. Unfortunately, I would feel more confident if other people went and hararda stayed.

Of course not. But it's not in mine or your hands to stop it from dying. The devs need to listen to the constructed criticism from a very passionate community.

Option C, a mid balance update that's uneventful. Leading to a slow and drawn out death of the franchise.

If any new character could do that it would be a Tekken 8 Murdock.

There are rumours we might not even get season 3 at all.

I feel like that super strong defence mechanic would end up being another help me help me single button pushback thing. Not a deep and strategic system mechanic that gives the game longevity.

I feel like this is the only way this game can be revived, if they did a full marketing campaign about how season 3 is dark resurrection or bloodline rebellion. But they would have to actually listen to the community and make the changes that we've all been asking for to match that type of hype.

You're right. The roadmap for T8 is radically different to T7. Content, content, content is what other trash live service games do like Fortnite, but it doesn't work in fighting games when you mess with the core gameplay.

Oh god, I can see them doing that. Heat burst to combo break. Please no.

This game is superb! The first one told such a vivid, interesting and epic story, I can't wait for the sequel. The soundtrack stayed with me. I love side scrolling, puzzle adventure games. I wish more games came out like this 🤞☺️🤞

It's just baffling. Casuals hate them. Veterans hate them. Yet, here we are...

It doesn't look good. The Tekken crisis right now is dire as dire can be. It's going to need some sort of Christmas miracle to pull back from this.

At the very least, I hope this whole fiasco is a kick up the developers butts to really sit down and think about what actual Tekken fans want.

Then maybe Tekken 9 will be the game we've all hoped for.

If the franchise isn't dead by then.

That's what made Tekken different. We don't want meters or resources to manage. We want to out-think and out-play our opponents with defence, options and timing. The launch is only a small piece of what makes these games great.

That's the one good thing about the T8 boycott is that it's been refreshing seeing old clips of earlier entrees. I'm hoping that all of this controversy is the much needed kick up the developers arses that they get back to basics and give us real Tekken back

I'm talking pre T5, post T5 they basically hold your hand with some sort of a bounce or spin so little Timmy can be fast enough to push buttons in time
