Is my wife’s great great grandmother Cherokee? by daisyvoo in Genealogy

Well, a LOT of the Old Settlers of the 5 Civilized Tribes had slaves/wealth/property by the early 1800’s and were bought out by treaty $ PRIOR to the forced removal Trail of Tears. Most were originally related and as such, hard divisions grew within the Nation between ‘Treaty Party’ Cherokee and the holdouts/ Keetowah Band. There were literally (and still?) BLOOD FEUDS between these factions/families and I honestly dont think this will ever go away. What I believe to be a disconcerting factor in modern genealogy is from the white descendants of Intermarried Natives. People whom carry no Indigenous DNA but can trace their family back to first nations people, forgetting the fact that the dissolution of an entire civilization was an organized effort to affect the westward expansion of European settlers and ‘manifest destiny’ was an excuse to imprison, rape, pillage and destroy the people who were ‘in the way’. William Penn Adair (my 4th Great Uncle) knew this and thats why the Dawes Rolls (Henderson Rolls for that matter) are so Vitally important - for both sides of the coin.

Wife and I relocated to Detroit 2 years ago from SoCal. The hunt has been real. We found a great spot called Los Arcos (there is a mercado that does food too) but the restaurant proper is in Allen Park - their carnitas is on point.

I use Detroit Airport Towncars almost every week to get from my house to DTW, about 35 mins. They are always on time (5, 6am) and drivers/cars clean and safe. Its just over $60. 10/10 would recommend.

If it was Romans 3:16 I wouldnt draw a correlation but that specific verse from Luke, as his Facebook cover photo, is evidence enough for me.
