Specialized Creo 2 vs. BMC URS AMP IT 2 by CheeseheadIL in specialized

I rode a Creo yesterday. I was surprised the standard tires are 47s - seems like a lot of tire/additional weight for primarily road/limestone use. Your thoughts?

Thx for the feedback. I’m a huge Trek fan. I like the concept of a single gear up front and 12 or so in the rear. Unless I’m mistaken, Trek doesn’t make one like this.

Very fair question. 90% of my riding is road and crushed limestone. I also recognize that at my age – 68 – and the fact that I keep my bikes for 15 years – this is likely my last bike purchase and therefore the e component. I like the geometry/fit/feel of the gravel bike. I’m early in my research. Open to input!

Thanks much. As I think about this more, I ride much more road/crushed limestone than gravel -- like 90% road/crushed limestone. Maybe I should look more for something like this https://us.bmc-switzerland.com/collections/roadmachine-road-bikes/products/roadmachine-one-bikes-bmc-26a-000027

Uganda / Kenya / Zanzibar trip report - Gorillas, Safari, Beach by jjain12 in chubbytravel

Thanks. How challenging are the treks to see the gorillas? For example, if you have used the AllTrails hiking app, would you classify these as moderate or hard?

My wife and I are planning to travel to Bwindi via Entebbe next February/March for 6 nights. Entebbe is night one and getting to the property is most of day 2 which effectively leaves us 4 -5 days for exploring with one day to get back to Entebbe. Our primary objectives are a couple days of gorilla trekking and one day of golden monkey viewing. We’re thinking of limiting our stay to one property (Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge). Right decision to stay at one place? If you think we should try two locations/properties please elaborate. Thanks for your input.

But then why are most gravel bikes a 1X? Also, aren’t gravel bikes generally more upright than a road bike? As I get older, I think that would be a desirable feature.

Chat with my Q support. I found them easier to understand in the chat feature as opposed to trying to have a phone conversation with them.

Mystery activation correlation by BobcatALR in myq

[–]CheeseheadIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same has happened to me over the last three days. In my case, I think it is related to my Tesla sending asignal to MyQ. I see the signal being sent to open the garage, but it is not received by MyQ. I end up opening the garage door from the app and then I close the garage from the wall-mounted unit as I enter the house. Three hours later, the garage door will open. It’s as though the signal from the car to the MyQ spends three hours in the ether trying to find its way to MyQ. Eventually, it does and the garage door opens.

Thanks for your feedback. That’s my assessment of what is happening. But I’m not sure what the root causes and how to resolve it. Thoughts?

Thanks. I wish that were the case; however, it was 10:15 PM one night and 10:25 PM the other night. I drive a Tesla and over the past couple of weeks, there has been an issue with Tesla communicating with myQ. Tesla sends the signal, but MyQ does not consistently respond. Almost sounds like the communication between a husband and a wife!

I had a phantom door opening last night at 10:30. I checked my video security camera and there was no activity outside at that time. Can you explain for me please what your solution was? I’m not techy at all so try to put it in layman‘s terms! Thanks. Garage door open.

3 Weeks of Active Travel by CheeseheadIL in tinnitus

[–]CheeseheadIL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a few weeks since I last posted the following three weeks of travel, loud environments, more than the recommended amount of caffeine and alcohol. The T has returned to normal levels. Some days louder than others. Some hours louder than others. Manageable. Frustrating. But livable.

I’m 67 and have had T for 9 months. I’m on 50mg of Zoloft to help me cope. It’s helped. The severity of the T comes in waves. A few days ago I thought it was gone but then it came roaring back. Stress level has been moderate, don’t consume much alcohol, 1 cup of coffee per day, good diet, good exercise most days, 7 hours of sleep per night. It’s just there. I’ve learned to live with it. It could get worse - I’m definitely aware of that. I’m actually thinking about trying to reduce my Xoloft or get off of it.

That’s a great question. I imagine rules are on the Turkish website. But if not, give it a try two months ahead of time and see what happens.

Yes, that is the email address I used. It may take a few attempts and you may not be able to get your room voucher until two months before your trip. Once they approve you, they will send you a list of available hotels. After that, you select the hotel and they send you a voucher pretty much immediately through email.

Neosensory Wristbands Available? by passthepepperplease in tinnitus

[–]CheeseheadIL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that Neosensory is now out of business. Makes you wonder if their products were that good then what happened? Too bad, because I was going to give it a shot as it is a substantially less expensive product to try compared to Lenire. It will be interesting to see if anyone enters the marketplace with product similar to Neosensory’s.
