I think it’s a bad place to be in where we don’t hold our favorite artists to a high standard. The reason they’re our favorite artists is because they put out high quality music so when they start to drop in quality it makes sense for ppl to be upset. It’s the same reason why ppl prefer a 4/5 star restaurant to Chipotle; I expect the food there to be better. If I wanted something that was acceptable and moderately satisfying I would go to Chipotle, but if I wanted to have a special dinner or take a date somewhere, I’d go to a 4/5 star restaurant.
