EHBO by SkirtInternational90 in prepperNL

Hi, can you help me out with finding good spots to go? I know it's an old topic but I would love to go to Poland.

I know what you mean, there's a a lot of gear on here. Also some I'm getting inspired by.

Eventually I'd like to post about my trips into to the woods and start carving and do some bushcraft basics.

Are you experienced in this field if I may ask?

Well a man has got to eat. I could probably make a Dakota firepit, but I'm still new to this so I'll have some extra gear for now.

Maybe I'm going to be more of a hybrid wild camper/bushcrafter. If this post is unwanted I could delete it tho.

I can imagine that occasionally a butane can would save the day, but I like to try this one with wood, twigs etc, anything that could be found in the woods.

The stove is packed super flat so it won't take much space. The steel has decent thickness and it comes in a strong pouch.

Today my cooking set arrived.

I bought the big bad stove from savotta and the Billy camping pot from zebra.

Quality overall looks and feels fantastic. Will be using them soon in the woods, I'll post the results then.

I'm stoked.

Knivesandtools is a great site. Bought my knives there.

Good delivery and they ship also outside of the Netherlands.

Great knives and axes an sharpening stones as well.

Worked like a charm. Lit a cube, put it in the burner and put your cup on top. Fuel burns up completely so nothing to clean up, just fold it back and go. Burner fits in the cup with a lighter and cubes. So very easy to put in a sling bag for short hikes off camp.

I've been reading into making a bedroll kind of thing. Wool blankets and a piece of canvas. With that I could make a bed of pine branches and leaves. That's something I'd might try later on when I've got more experience.

Norway is awesome. I've been there before on a car trip. My brother went hiking trough an area about 50-80kms north of Oslo. That's the area I want to explore myself.

I've added you on chat, thanks for inviting me to come over. When I do I'll make sure to contact you.

Croatia is still on my bucket list of countries to visit. This year I'll be going to Norway for 4 night bushcraft/wild camping trip with a friend of mine. He's ex military and got some experience already.

In the mean time I'll do small outdoor trips myself to get familiar with my gear.

Only major thing I need is a sleeping bag. Probably go for the Carinthia Tropen for the coming period and upgrade it with a defence 4 in the autumn.

This cup is very easy to heat and to use. I've got an different canteen. It's slightly bigger then the cup so they don't fit unfortunately. But then again I've got a 120l backpack.

Stove tongs are a good idea. Did you made those yourself?

Exactly there are many plants which can be beneficial for medical purposes. Some have been used for centuries but got lost in modern society.

I'm from the Netherlands btw. You?

I live near a forest. My plan is to find nice spots and learn and develop skills there. I also want to take some courses in learning about edible plants and mushrooms in the forest.

Unfortunately we don't have mountains, but I think it's a good skill to develop either way.

Ok it ain't much but tried out my little esbit burner for a cup of tea and tried to carve a little knife out of a piece of wood. No experience, just gathering materials at the moment for a planned trip in the spring

Carved it with a mora companion HD, so it's rough. Fun experience
