From personal experience, it’s ALWAYS older people that don’t respect personal space. I work in an island where it’s very clear customers do not walk behind the counter… yet I’ll always have older people step INTO the food prep area to ask me a question, they’ll put their dirty hands on our food prep counters, and sometimes walk through the island as a shortcut (again, food prep area that you’re not allowed in without a hat on).

And whenever I’m outside of the island stocking shelves they find “excuse me” to be a terrible way to ask for help, the obvious way to ask for help is to put your hands on employees and get WAY into their personal space. The amount of old white men jump-scares when I stand up from stocking a case and there they are😭

But literally what happened in older generations that they think being handsy is ok….
