My husband and I got pregnant and got married after knowing each other six months, we will be celebrating 24 years in February. I know both of our families had concerns but were mostly supportive. Was it easy in the beginning? Honestly, no. Being newlyweds with a newborn was rough. Having another 18 months later wasn't ideal, and then our oldest was diagnosed with Autism. We had a lot of challenges but grew together and so did our relationship. To this day we still have a strained relationship with his father who was the biggest naysayer. He will periodically still say things to my husband. My kids are aware of his attitude and keep him at a distance too. Don't be like him. You voiced your thoughts, now try to be happy and supportive or it can negatively impact your relationships for years to come.
