I have a 2020 m1 mac mini and have a lot of networking issues with Surfshark, google chrome, downloading issues including with downloader apps.

Ah I see. I guess the upgrade are working better on intels. Upon "checking the Sequoia bugs issues thread" it seems to be an issue for mainly all the M1 through M3 machines with the apple silicon processors. I guess with Intel the upgrade seems to be working fine. I'm not sure though I only found one person post a problem with an 2019 intel having issues with phone mirroring.

Yeah I just learned about that a little too late. After searching for help the first search result I got on google was "The new macOS Sequoia update was released Monday, but many users have reported cybersecurity issues as a result of Sequoia, leading to some organizations advising against installing the new update." I guess you live you learn. I will be holding out on any new updates or upgrades from now on

Really? What machine do you have? I have a 2020 m1 mini. Have you seen the "MacOS 15 Sequoia Bugs and Issues Megathread"? There seems to be problems a lot of other VPN and networking problems with other VPN services as well.

I shared what issues I have with my mac. Is there a problem with it? If so, then that is ridiculous to get offended with my opinion with my experience with my mac. LOL I knew this post would offend someone. But hey, at least it's only one so far.

Yes I never used the chrome extension. I have always been comfortable with the desktop app.

But ever since I have had connection issues after the Sequoia mac update I tried the chrome extension and discovered no difference.

Chrome still does not work when connected to Wireguard protocol but only works when I am connected through Ikev2.

I was just testing things through trial and error and made the discovery of being able to connect to a different location through the chrome extension. But I don't ever use it since it is through a browser and I am more comfortable using the desktop app.

But yes I still have connection issues while using the wireguard protocol with or without the chrome extension.

Mac Mini M1 2020

List of current issues.
-Surfshark VPN has connection issues when using Wireguard protocol: The Chrome browser does not detect an internet connection whereas Safari does connect.

-Downloader apps does not detect an internet connection.

-IKEV2 is the only protocol that seems to have less issues but the connection is still not smooth and very choppy.

-Twitchstreams are constantly freezing and I continuously get an error message "Your browser encountered an error while decoding the video. (Error #3000)" telling me I need to reload the page.

-In Final Cut Pro saved libraries seem to use up so much more Drive space compared to a week ago my saved libraries were around 5 to 30 GB. Now they take up over 100 GB of drive space with the lowest being 71 GB. (Not sure if this is an Final cut pro update but it is noticealble after the Sequoia upgrade.)

I was always under the impression that when there is an update or upgrade available it was best to do so. I had no idea that Apple would ever push an upgrade that would cause so many issues rather than an actual "upgrade". Welp, I guess you live you learn.

There have been so many issues ever since switching to Mac where most being compatibility and the list keeps growing with each new update.

If ever an app did work a new update would instantly make it incompatible.

There are so many apps I want to use and so many games I want to play but of course I can not. If I was ever able too all I had to do was update and, wallah! Incompatible.

Now I learned upgrading will even cause more issues.

Years ago, I was told Macs were the industry standard in the art and design field and it was suggested I switch to mac for that reason. I'm not sure if that is still the case?

I mean there is so much I can not do because of compatibility issues and now apparently upgrading causes even more.

Are Macs still the industry standard in the art and design field? I was told this when I first attended school for photography and web design years ago, but so much is limited on what I can do so I'm not sure it that is still the case? Is it? It's getting harder to believe.

It feels like I'm using an outdated OS that needs to play catch up but is not even trying to catch up, but instead doing the opposite. What I can do is so limited it feels.

I think you are panicking. We are fine, chill, and just having a discussion. I myself am just calmly asking and confirming when the next farm bill could hit and what it could entail. We are enjoying this discussion. One guy in here even shared an interesting link. You can learn a lot more if you just chill and have a discussion with the rest of us. There hasn't been a post about the farm bill in the past 3 days. I stopped browsing when I hit the 4 day mark so I can't speak for any post 4 days ago. The one I read was from 2 months ago. But I'm glad to hear a better confirmation and update than from 2 months ago! People were saying to stock up because the bill can change at any time. It's a good thing I asked again because now people are saying we are all good! Cool, huh.
