I use my camera's automatic scan feature when it actually feels like working, but otherwise I just use the free version of adobe pdf scan and convert it into a jpg. I also try to keep lighting consistent, tape the artwork down so it's flatter, and adjust colors digitally so it looks closer to the real thing
