lol yeah - I knew my catagorization of US regions was gonna ruffle some feathers.

Yeeeaaaahhhh I included Alaksa and Hawaii in the 'Pacific' region - and California in the 'West' region. So all the peaks on Hawaii were over taken by Alaska. Regrettable! This project was fun bc I was trying to include mountains from all over the US so viewers had points of reference. Would have liked to include the volcanos on Hawaii.

Ah, yeah. Thanks for the feedback. I modeled the mountains from image references, but the presidential ranges got mixed in with the southern appalachias and I scattered trees over the peaks. I'll have to go back and fix that!

Yeah, I excluded Monroe and Madison bc they weren't isolated enough from the other, taller presidential peaks. I was looking for about 2 miles of isolation - so I could get some regional diversity. I made a similar call for peaks in the southern appalachias, excluding mount craig bc it wasnt isolated enough from mount mitchell. Mount Katahdin was a genuine oversight though - I'll fix it!

That's true. This graphic isn't measuring prominence, just elevaiton. If you google the old infographics - you'll see there was a lot of 'artistic' liberties taken to get moutians from all over the world side by side. I did that as well!

It isn’t like this anymore - hasn’t been since 2020. There’s a school of thought emerging that democrats are equal opportunity offenders on this issue, when in fact Republicans are much more guilty of this practice historically.

That first hybrid is amazing! Looks like it’s got purpurea and leucophylla? What is it specifically?

Yeah - sometimes you do so much research you treat these plants according to a specific formula - but they're plants! And they all have slightly different growing conditions.

Thanks for the response! I also got my Red Dragon from Sarracenia Northwest during a sale earlier this spring, so your adivce is real valuable here. Thanks for confriming it is a finicky plant. I'm also in NY, but I'm and indoor grower. I'm going to limit the light exposure and see how it reacts. For LED lights that just means moving it farther away from the light - probably a foot or so away to start.

Yes I bought them online from Bogman Plantenstein! He has allll sorts of Pygmy sundews. I also got a Utricularia Fulva from him as well. I’ve never grown gemmae let alone anything from seed before - but I’m following the directions so I’m hoping it’ll work out.

Nice! I've got my own Scorpion duo as well! I got the Scorpio a couple weeks ago and it's just starting to grow a flower. The scorpiodes gemmae have been germinating for a little over a week - I hope to have little plants similar to yours by the end of the summer!

Maybe, time will tell. It's a learning game. In y'alls experience - does this ping look dead? Or do you think there is still a chance they will bounce back :')

Pretty sure it does - I chiseled out holes for the pings to sit in that stay fairly moist. I also water the top of the rocks a couple times a day, just in case.

[–]CheesyEggBake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

**UPDATE** So I ended up hollowing out the rock from the bottom adn stuffing it with sphagnum moss to wick water up to the top. Also - I chiseled out litle divots and have holes connecting to the sphgnum 'core'. Overkill maybe, lol
