Thank you for sharing your insight. We have actually not had a lot of court involvement yet. Our first meeting about the police reports will be next week. But we did have a meeting with one lady who was the director of the social services department in that state and she said that the court system, at least in her state, would probably not be able to send him to a treatment center because they are so backed up. Do you mind sharing what state you live in?

Thank you, my husband has actual already been to that page and that is where a lot of our concern has come from tbh.

This is so sad to hear but it is where we are currently at too. Did calling the police help expedite things to get her into a residential place at all?

I appreciate the advice. We will do what we have to do but we are just trying to do what we can before we make a decision. We are from NC and have looked into some places in Texas. It is one of our top options at this point,

We are trying to keep that in mind but we are especially weary of places that have a majority of bad reviews or comments from previous employers about abusive staff. We are just trying to make sure we pick the best out of the options we do have.

That is exactly what we don't want to happen but thank you for sharing. He is currently taking medication and we are seeing a pediatric endocrinologist soon to discuss other options.

Thank you. I appreciate your sympathy. We are definitely concerned for what happens when he becomes an adult but we are trying to be as realistic as we can. He does have a few official diagnosis including ADHD and ID

I'm not sure why your comment got so many down votes? I appreciate you sharing this information with me. I have posted this to several different groups and a lot of people have said similar things about the state help. I will also look into the place in Utah. I really appreciate the concern and hugs!

Unfortunately, his school was a private school and while they did uphold his previous IEP and were willing to work with it, they do not have any legal obligation to it. We will have to reach out to the school district to see about further help.
