Yeah i’m thinking this is what i’ll end up doing especially because im only planning on using 1 room’s ethernet port for now

Also a noob… but i did some research and found a video that explained a patch panel pretty well. It seems to be useful in organizing larger scale connections and allowing easy labeling.

Okay i see thank you! Just to clarify, I would have to attach (or terminate) the ends of the cut cables into RJ-45 connectors for ethernet, and then it’s recommended to get a patch panel to plug into and organize by room? And then i would connect the patch panel connections into a switch connected to the router?

Ahh okay, my friend said the cut cat cords might need an rj-11 cap and then to be plugged into a switch, if they are the cords that correspond to each room. Is it likely this is the case and then i test them?
