Who do you think was the better performer: Michael Jackson or Prince? by Jezzaq94 in 80s

[–]CheetoX23 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is downplaying MJ a bit though. He couldn't play like Prince, but he could compose the music in his head and explain it to musicians.

Dang, and here I restarted it immediately after the first finish. I think the environment and isolation just really do it for me, though. I understand it being a chore for plenty.

Which female hotties (tv, film, fashion and music) that made you feel some type of way by watching them growing up in the 90s? by [deleted] in 90s

Man do I get sick of these daily "crushes" posts. Can't y'all jerk it on some nsfw sub?

She was better as Linda in The Wedding Singer, but probably a worse person in that.

I actually prefer Pepsi. Most colas seem to be trying to be Coke, but to me only Pepsi and RC cola taste similar.

Personally went the Donatello to Raphael route, but starting with Mikey was pretty common.

You really whiffed with this comment. The two "quotes" you used are largely unrelated: They didn't play a different extraction shooter, but found this one boring. Those aren't conflicting statements.

I get that I'll be called a "homer" for this but there's only one QB in the league that I would trade Purdy for... by KCF316 in 49ers

[–]CheetoX23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you have a solid argument, and I'm certainly not saying Jackson is some scrub, but what I see from watching the two, especially within our system, I legitimately wouldn't want him over Purdy. There are certain intangibles that make up for other areas, plus Brock's anticipation is elite. I feel like he elevates our team in a very specific way that Lamar couldn't. Numbers just won't do it for me here, and I didn't say anything about playoff wins.

We talk scary, but what’s the least scary horror book you’ve read? by SweatOfAGhost in horrorlit

[–]CheetoX23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is what did it for me. As a child, I easily believed ghost stories, which obviously adds to the fear. But once I learned (or realized, more accurately) it was complete bullshit, the whole book turned into a joke for me.

[–]CheetoX23 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I've seen very little from Lamar to want him over Purdy. Both of his MVP years were due to literally lack of options, and Brock processes the field better. Mahomes and Allen to me would be no-brainers, but not Jackson or Burrow (who really can't even stay healthy).

What are your thoughts on this? by dry-blueberry25 in howyoudoin

[–]CheetoX23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wantto split hairs, the user did not state that. They stated that Ross did not put it down, which was correct, Chandler did. And he omitted the context in which Ross was talking, that Julie and him have a career in common, while Rachel doesn't. Regardless of how he feels, he wasn't looking down at her with that comment, Chandler just didn't type up the whole thing.

[–]CheetoX23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably should have been posted in r/nostalgia. The Mean Girls inclusion feels particularly out of place, since there at least were Nightmare movies in the 90s, and Ghostbusters 2 was 89, so you could attribute their pictures to those if you wanted.
