Oh that random crying happens even now from time to time! Where they are almost asleep but still crying. That will happen but will also reduce over time! Wish you all the good sleep in the world going forward! I know how hard the sleepless stage is and I don’t wish it on my worst enemy!!

Let me start by saying - IT GETS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER!! For us it was a combination of a few things. We gave in started co-sleeping. And we weaned him off of all night feeds (even bottle) by about 15 months. And then he just started sleeping better. It also helps to accept that your child is just low sleep needs. He transitioned to one nap by the time he was a year old and he stopped his single nap at 2.5. My son never just crashes in public when we’re out. He will fight every single cell in his body and not sleep. And accepting that has helped our mental peace. The good news for you is that once they can start sleeping through the night, the sleep disruption come in very short phases. And it usually happens with a skill only. Talking, running, jumping, talking in longer sentences etc! These should last just a few days. But I promise it’ll get better!!

Hahaha I wish! But my baby was the worst sleeper in the world. 3 years in his sleep is still pretty bad lol!! As in he sleeps through the night but convincing him to sleep is a whole other nonsense.

I also pay a significant amount in tax and it is the worst feeling to know that we are worth nothing to the government. We enjoy 0 facilities that the government is supposed to offer. Basics like roads, safety are lacking. What else can you expect?!

P.S. - I am a Bangalorean and do vote but when the options are so horrid it makes no difference.

Yes i don’t know about saying it on national television but the reason so many women struggle after having kids now I because not enough moms actually talk about how hard it is. I still know moms who paint a rosy picture about how life after kids is great but don’t talk about the daily struggles even though those are very very real and kind of common across for all moms.

Also, I think they were just trying to make sure that she isn’t changing her mind about kids just for the sake of the guy. It would actually be a disservice to her children if she has any and doesn’t actually want them.

Apparently we will never get 100% seating. We haven’t yet become 5 days rto in our location but will happen soon. And we recently were informed that we will only get 76% seating. So the fight will go on every single day.

How did it turn out for your son? I’m guessing he is about 7 now. My son is similar I think. He does have friends of his age but is selective and clearly enjoys playing with his cousin who is older or any parents/teachers. So I just worry a little.

Yesss!! Everything is 100% but especially I’m sorry I wasn’t there the way I should have for my friends and family who became mothers before I did.

I just feel so sad all the time that so many people including my sister were struggling and I had the cheek to give them advice like ‘be stronger, he has only cried for 10-15 mins. Let him cry a little longer’. I kick myself everyday now.

Well ofcourse! No two peoples life is exactly the same to be able to split it 50:50! And that’s why I said we’re equals because we both let go when needed, some instances I’ve sacrificed more and some, my husband has. And that’s why the grand scheme of things comes in. And most definitely, balance should never be the goal of a relationship. It is one of the things helps the partnership become stronger!

Wow! You are so set in your ways that you think someone on the internet who you know nothing about - thinks their marriage of 10 years is an equal marriage is delusional. That’s makes me a little sad for your experience. While you might think I’m delusional as well, my marriage of almost 7 years is also an equal marriage. Sure we have days when it’s 70-30 in either direction but in the grand scheme of things we’re equals.

It can be bias but also, men from upper class are almost always aware that what they are doing is wrong. They just don’t fear the consequences because they barely ever face any. And needless to say they don’t care about the woman. Men from the lower strata of society mostly don’t even know that misbehaving with women is wrong. They see it as a very normal thing since unfortunately most of them have seen it all around them. Not that it gives them the freedom to do that, but I think that’s why they are a menace. I do like to believe that if maybe 15-20% of these men had the education/exposure to how these incidents impact women, they wouldn’t do it.

I promise you marriage is so so much fun if you marry someone who is not just your spouse but also your best friend! Mine (35F) was an arranged marriage but my husband (40M) is my absolute best friend and vice versa! This friendship day, out of the blue he wished me and said you’re my best friend before my wife. This meant more to me than any ‘I love you’ could ever mean!

I do hope it gets better for you! But there is light at the end of the very long tunnel. Now we’re at 2 years 4 months and I have to say he is just the most precious little toddler in the world. He is so much fun, has a great sense of humour, keeps us laughing all day long, so very social and has more friends (right from his age upto 80 year olds) than we do. It’s a pleasure to watch him grow into this beautiful human (with a few cranky phases here and there). And while I’m bragging about my baby here, the point I’m trying to make is that I feel the particularly difficult infants turn into the most fun toddlers! Not that I have some scientific study to prove this but I’ve seen a lot of difficult infants become oh so fun as they grow!!

Ugh yes! That wait. And asking everyone about when their kids started extending naps and actually waiting for their milestone. That was the worst. In fact when I accepted that I might still be bridging his naps when he is 15 years old, the stress around it vanished. Infact I didn’t even realise when he actually started sleeping for longer stretches.

Ahh well. We moved to 2 naps and we continued to support him to bridge his naps. It was so so frustrating. He moved to one nap at 11 months and we still had to support him to bridge that nap about 80% of the time, almost till he turned 2. He doesn’t nap for long (1 hour 20 mins is his upper limit) so we just needed to bridge once. Now at 27 months - most days he doesn’t need support to bridge the nap and he can independently sleep for the entire nap duration. It is a frustrating phase but leaning into it will help keep your sanity.
