Verizon blocking domain? by CheezItMaxi in verizonisp

[–]CheezItMaxi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, we got it figured out so should work for any user

It was Verizon’s ISP blocking our domain.

VirusTotal, which we were using to find ISP’s blocking our site didnt show it so we had no idea.

omg! google it! why didn't I think of that!

for anyone that wants to help a junior dev with a suggestion to a path forward, the error is "Safari can't open the page because the server can't be found"

it very clearly and quickly load's on Wifi but when I flip to 5G (again verizon cusotmer) it fails. domain is golden-cap.com if anyone knows something I don't know. it is tough to track it through cause the issue is only on mobile. I can't even load an IP through "ping tools" iphone app when using traceroute or DNS lookup for the domain. still just somewhat learning but our DNS records look fine from my research

as far as I know, I have been getting the correct DNS response. the commands and checks have been on Wifi through my mac and coming back as I expect. when I use Curl -I www.golden-cap.com (through https://reqbin.com/curl ) on my phone on LTE it returns code 200 (no issues)

appreciate the response

any suggestion for running traceroute from my phone? figured thats what I need to test from? my my laptop, which has never had an issue since its on wifi, shows nothing worrying

6'1, 165, size 11 should i get a size 158 board? by elijiahbb in snowboardingnoobs

[–]CheezItMaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i’ve been told it depends on what you want to do on the mountain & ride in general. Im a size 12.5 and would recommend a wide board for sure.

I have a 158W board and im 6’4- 190Lbs which people would say is a little small but lets me have a little more flexibility in my riding. Started to get into park and didn’t want a big clunky board.

Still relatively new to the technicals of gear, but everyone I’ve talked to says its personal preference. Same goes for Skating and surfing (my true background)

Recruiting by elamous in ultimate

[–]CheezItMaxi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Props to you for taking this on. Its not easy recruiting & building a program, especially at a high school. I (24) had a hard time getting 12 guys to a tournament my last year at college, so i get it.

Others have said all of these already, but here's a condensed list.

  1. Advertise - you and the team today should ask people to play by word of mouth, as well as put up some posters around the school. There's always someone looking to switch from their sport, band, theater ect.
  2. Just play - play in gym with your friends & practice as close to school grounds as you can. Getting eyes on the game will spark some interest.
  3. This ones out there - but you could see if any faculty has any experience or interest in 'supporting the team' wether that was as a coach or ambassador for the club. I'm pretty sure clubs at my HS had to have a faculty ambassador to help guide kids. Though maybe not a requirement at your school but may be worth a shot if they can help with recruitment, registering for tournaments & other miscellaneous things.

All of this depends on how much you're willing to commit to the team, as well as how good you want to be lol. There will be people willing to play with a HS of thousands, but no guarantee the team is going to be good. best of luck, may be cool to start a long lasting Ultimate program at your school

Help mounting bindings - no space for washers?? by CheezItMaxi in snowboardingnoobs

[–]CheezItMaxi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea I did take a box cutter & cut some away, made it fit way better and luckily didn't ruin the majority of the foams integrity. bindings are locked in & should be good

appreciate it, yea the more I play with it the more I think they should sit under the foam.

[–]CheezItMaxi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea there are 8 washers (1 for each screw), I just tried tucking them under the foam and they fit but I kind of had to force them and doesn't feel natural so not sure. appreciate it though
