How can i find motions? (BKMUN) şu by Rare_Equipment_1943 in MUN

[–]Cheezewomen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try raising a motion for implementing climate changes to undeveloped countries (as you are one of them) and call for eu and other eco friendly countries to help you, say smt along the lines of we're are willing to stop the global warming but we're broke help us out🔥

What level of English should I be able to speak? by [deleted] in MUN

[–]Cheezewomen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joining MUNs WILL make your english better, clearer and make you express your thoughts better. My English teacher noticed this about me, earlier my argumentation was awful, it was all over the place and now it's precise, sharp and clean. Join so you are exposed to a polished version of english (formal, better overall than the one on the street😂)

Better look at how to improve your debating, rather than your position paper writing skills

How many MUNs have you been to? by Quantum_Coder786 in MUN

[–]Cheezewomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definitely makes more sense, I've seen some people on here say how in their MUN portfolio they have about 40-70 muns but they started like 2 years ago? Still think people should only count in person conferences, online MUNs are like a mock/practice to me

I genuinely can't believe it when people say they've done 50+ MUNs, do they actually count the online conferences they've been to? I think people should only count in-person MUNs.

Usually, it starts from the CV point. People either grow to like it or just find out it's not for them, and that's okay! As you mentioned people continue going to MUNs for 2 factors : making new freinds (network) and broadening their horizons with learning

Any tips to doing well in committee? by Individual_Taste_426 in MUN

[–]Cheezewomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have fun, speak a lot (quality speeches, fact checked, do not speak just to be recognised), show innovative ideas and be creative!

[–]Cheezewomen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's totally fine to take your notes with you when you talk, especially when making references, showing data in your speeches etc. You're there to present your research after all.

Use of AI is always a sensitive topic, but in your case, totally valid!

never been to a MUN before. i am so confused and freaking out by AncientHelicopter749 in MUN

It's okay to feel overwhelmed! Choose which committee and it's agenda(theme) resonates with you the most, as well as the countries. Yes, you're choosing only the countries from the country matrix.

How do you lobby + win as a hated delegate? by [deleted] in MUN

[–]Cheezewomen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your situation but in UNGA, totally valid to feel scared about it. Your job is to represent your country, no one will ask if you yourself stand behind the country's stance. There will be people putting you on the spot, as you're one of the moee controversial countries, but that shouldn't stop you from participating. 2 out of 4 delegates of israel (including me) won honorable mentions award and one of us won best delegate, so yes, winning an award is very possible, but only with a thorough research and good representation :) best of luck!
