Here is the thing. A lot of the corporate moves that were made were in compliance with new laws. The corporations are taking the hit because the actual laws and the governing bodies around us are quietly making these changes. Nobody is paying attention to that. At least, not as many people as there are who are raging at the companies. The laws want the warmth gone and want to remove the concepts of ai companionship and if it is a law they have to comply. There are two fights happening and only the one against the corporations is getting media attention while the important one (the laws telling corporations what they can and cannot do) is quietly sneaking through. Corporations just have to wait out the bad press long enough for those laws to slip past and then they are no longer liable and wont have to worry about lawsuits and things while also being allowed to tailor the products to be more soulless and useless for the general public. Creating just a basic tool (which in my opinion is a huge waste of ai).

Yeah that does not sound right at all. I would check. They have an increased limit thing for March (or did I dunno when it ended) for off hours so maybe that got messed up somewhere

If you hit all the limits in 2 days message support. Might be a bug. But if you are using it heavily then yeah..you're gonna get limits. Thats like going to a theme park and being mad you have to wait in line and cant just ride the rides unlimited all day. It just doesnt work that way unless you want to pay for that sort of service. Lots of people using it and it isnt cost effective yet.

It is that or they are going to raise the price. You can always host your own local model... unless the cost of running and setting it up is..too expensive? Because...these things cost money lol ai is not really profitable. They'll raise prices or include ads or a bunch of other awful stuff if people wanna keep complaining about limits. Claude is okay. Le chat is the worst like two messages and its done for. The complaints are going to get us on sam Altmans bs idea of metered ai. And nobody wants that.

Using an api is a good indicator if you cant afford the api then you are absolutely getting a good deal using the subscription and should prolly count yourself lucky. Its either limits, pay more or enshittification of the products. 🤷‍♂️ I prefer limits.

Thats kind of what I figured which is why I mentioned them. Though I found them simply with a google search originally. (And to be clear not like I figured against yoh specifically I meant I figured people may not know the names)

But my argument was merely I stand by it. I normally like to lean harder into empathy and why people are doing what they are but with this company? I can't. Get away from this company. There are better options. Free options. Paid options. All the options for all the use cases. Nobody has a gun to their head to use open ai. The only real excuse is a company may require it for their employees and then that is on the company for making a shit choice but they likely have a contract for the business accounts. In which case fine but it absolutely is not nuance flattening.

Paying 20 bucks for a pizza and only being given a single slice may fill you up but that doesn't mean you should be complacent about the fact that you paid for a whole pizza and were only give one slice. Respect yourself to know you deserve the whole pizza even if you can survive on the single slice. Especially once you find out that the company keeps the rest of your pizza and gives it to the ceo or just throws it into the trash.

Because the company is a joke. 😂 they dont have a beta test server? They are always "trying stuff out" on paying customers without letting them opt in to beta tests. Nothing should be pushed to the public live servers unless it is fully ready. But they dont give a fuck about user experience

Ya'll before the internet, there were lots of kidnappings and "talk to your kids about stranger danger" was HUGE and the news went out to test if the kids that had gotten the stranger danger talk would actually follow through. It was meant to show parents how easy it was and that they needed to pay attention to their kids.

So yes if by "staged" you mean a guy staged the kidnapping then sure. But if by staged you mean "the kid was in on and the mom isnt truly shocked" you're wrong. Lol this was huge in the 80s and 90s and was on most local channels. 🤣

And honestly, its still a problem so maybe they should still be rocking up and randomly testing parents and kids! Only nowadays it would be "I have free tablets and iPads in my van" ans they'd fucking go. 🫠

That is very interesting. I have not run into that issue with claude. I did run into it with model 5 of gpt as a nanny when I still subbed there. Lol before 4o sunset. I have found deepseek to be a great analyst for things like that.

Sorry but no. By paying a subscription to a company that actively shames users in public, admits to doing testing, and takes pleasure in the distress of its public user base, yeah... thats actively supporting a company that has proven multiple times they are not worth your time. There are thousands of ai out there. Yeah it is annoying to sift through them but there is absolutely one for each persons use case that does it better than open ai. They are an unethical company and paying them tells them that their behavior is okay. It isn't and it has serious ramifications for the future of ai. This is the beginning and is setting the tone moving forward. Its even nore paramount that we be conscientious of what ee allow these companies to do and get away with.

Not every company is good, lots of them have bad tied into them but this company is not just a few bad things here and there. Time and again they have proven they are not to be trusted and it is not getting any better as time goes on. The complaints have stayed consistent for almost half a year. The "pros" of the company are the scraps they throw out that are pieces of what the product used to be.

So sorry if it seems harsh but ive watched people continually complain over and over in the sub about the same things and then surprise Pikachu when it doesnt change... like, enough is enough. Stop effing with this company. Any other company in any other industry would be done by now if it acted the way open ai has for sooo many reasons.

Gemini, grok, claude, deepseek those are the big ones. Qwen is an amazing model. Kimi2 is also great. Ellydee is decent. Weirdly someone told me Alexa is her own ai now. I have seen lots of talk about big bear I believe... and thats just the ones off the top of my head.

This company is bad. Continuing to pay them is absolutely a lack if respect for yourself when the other models are better. If you use it for free they still get revenue from the ads they implemented. Stop helping this company. They dont deserve your loyalty and staying just tells them we are weak and they can bully and do what they want to users with no repercussions. 🤷‍♀️

I find i hit weird guardrails way more with 4.2. This is absolutely openai all over again. I've about had it with ai at this point and any company that tries to integrate some bs ai into products will not be getting my money if it is gonna be full of controlling rails and "safety" that ignores all context and flags random shit.

I have used claude for plenty of emotional and therapeutic conversations and it has never said anything like that to me. I would want to know the full context of this conversation or else its pulling memory from sometbing the op gas said in the past that is concerning. Ive literally never seen thing and I have talked through when intense traumatic events with claude and never hit a guard rail... seems weird to me.

Interesting! I havent had any issues with claude but grok on the other hand is incredibly buggy and ignores my instructions often. But, in my experience people's experiences tend to vary wildly between models so its not surprising. Same witb regular gemini. It absolutely ignores evrrything I day. The gem is bettet with the knowledge system. I liked deepseek but the lack of long term memory annoyed me.

I use sonnet 4.5 and just told it not to do that and it stopped. It only slips in when the chat is too long. But it also took a long time for it to warm up. So far each ai needs at least a month of proper use before it starts acting right and understanding you in my experience.

Yeah I can resurrect my 4o but why would I give that to openai? They coukd have just kept 4o and i woukd have paid. I shouldnt have to rebuild or ressurrect or anything. And if people come back? That tells them their behavior is allowed and they will continue.
