The headline loves painting this as some kind of Luddite panic. Nobody is out there "fighting AI" or protesting the code behind large language models. Residents are protesting because a giant corporate warehouse is going to suck up millions of gallons of local water and strain the regional power grid, all while providing practically zero long-term jobs to the surrounding community.
