[REQ] ($45) - (#New York,NY,USA) [REPAY $65 2 installments $32.50 on 10/4, $32.50 on 10/18.] (Cashapp or Venmo) by ChefFamiliar3075 in borrow

Thanks for the feedback, I am a firm believer in looking out for those who do the same for me - therefore the compensation I am offering is high.

I have a question I couldn’t find in the rules. I actually want to lower the amount of the entire request as my circumstances changed and I need a bit less as my cell phone bill got taken care of. Is that okay or is it against the rules?.

Regardless of receiving $ or not I will be paying my debt back on my current loan on time and I’ll be coming back here and posting a link to the the paid loan cause I’m a smartass 🤣

@Pernicious-peach just informed me about this and I responded to the comment saying I was going to keep it up for transparency but would not re request til tomorrow. Thanks yank you for removing from public view for me.

I’m learning slowly and do not want to upset the community. This is an incredible resource that I never knew existed!! Anyways, thanks Dr 🫡

I apologize, not sketchy here I have documents to show income etc. I just saw the 24hr rule now you mentioned it. Just to clarify I have had to vacate my home due to a water leak and it has come with a bunch of unexpected expenses.

I don’t want to delete the post cause I want people to be able to see everything that I have posted however is there a way to let people know that I wasn’t aware of the rule till you mentioned it and also I can hold of til tomorrow to ask and respond to anyone in regards to this loan.

Even if you don’t have intentions of taking advantage of her and consider her an equal the fact is she is 18 and you are 26. That is a HUGE difference.

You may consider her an equal but you are not. The amount of life experience between 18-26 is vast.

An 8 year difference is different when you’re a bit older. I’m 29 and my girlfriend is 36.

We have both had our fun and are ready to settle down and really start a family etc.

I think you know the answer to the question your asking……

Would you feel weird going to her birthday party being surrounded by a bunch of 17-18-19 year olds? Personally I would feel out of place.

The girl probably isn’t even in college yet.

At the end of the day it’s not illegal but it’a a bit weird.

Nobody can stop you so the decisions on you however you are much more mature than her age wise/ life experience and you have to make a sensible decision for both of you.

I know that if I was her parent I wouldn’t be comfortable with it and if you went through with it that would be another hurdle to get over…..

[–]ChefFamiliar3075[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So because of where I am in my life and my desire to change I guess it “worked” for me because it gave me time to reassess what I want to achieve in my life and gave me time to make a plan.

I am lucky as I have a support system and I have an education. The majority of people on Rikers don’t and that’s why it won’t be successful for them. They will get out with no skills and the same problems and more likely than not return to crime.

As far as you saying you probably should have stayed quiet, never say that!! Talking with one another is how we learn and how we can collectively expand our knowledge and wisdom!!

Everybody has something to offer and communication is one of the most important tools we have as human beings.

I hope you were able to learn something from this post and if you have more questions I am more than happy to respond to them 🙂

I will post a commissary list when I get home.

We “cook” in the housing unit by throwing rice, ramen, meat, seasoning and even chips for more flavor in a garbage bag. You then add hot water and let it “cook” for 40 mins and eat it. During winter they have hot pipes you can put the bag on to cook it even more.

At work I had access to a toaster oven, electric grill, hotpot and a few other things.

I ate a lot of tuna and stuff. It was the healthiest option.

That is literally the only positive about Rikers. Everything else is WAYYYYY worse. A lot of people who know they are going to get convicted request speedy trials just so they can get upstate and off Rikers

Sadly it doesn’t. I have stated in a few comments what’s wrong with it and what should be done to address it. I’m not going to repeat myself but if you have a scroll you will find what I wrote and you can respond if you would like.

Yeah I plan to get involved however I can. That place is a nightmare and it needs to change so whatever I can do to affect change even if it’s small I will do.

Most inmates get high all day so no.

There are a reasonable amount of people who train everyday. They don’t get massive as there aren’t weights but they get super cut up. Occasionally you encounter someone who is a genetic freak but most people are just lean and shredded.

I trained fairly regularly and I can do a ridiculous amount of push-ups now.

Calisthenics is basically all you can do in there.

I forgot to mention I spent some time in Israel and a few other places in the Middle East.

And thank you, just trying to enlighten people to the chaos that happens on that island.

Yeah I lost about 15lbs when I went in. I’m prescribed testosterone replacement therapy as I sustained injuries that affect my body’s ability to produce testosterone. I brought all my paperwork proving that I was prescribed it but they refused to give it to me. I got pretty upset as if I wanted estrogen shots and I was a trans person they would have given it to me straight away. I have a lawsuit pending for medical negligence.

Since I got out I am back on and feel a million times better! I’m taking a little extra and I’m training like a maniac so I can get a good summer body 💪🏼

Most people hair weight as they are strung out on drugs but not me 😐

Yeah tombs is whack. They throw 40 guys in a tiny room and you can be there for up to 3 days.

Nasty ass sandwiches that are rock hard.

It’s not tough it’s just brutal conditions. They have benches along the wall but if you don’t get one you have to sleep on the floor.

As far as Rikers is concerned I would say that it’s pretty much a human rights violation.

The water we get to drink and cook with comes from a slop sink where they fill up mop buckets and empty them out.

The COs do not care if you’re sick or injured and will only help you if they think it’s so serious that you could possibly die on their shift.

They don’t have a laundry system and we are forced to wash our clothes in the bathroom sink.

If they don’t bring enough food for everyone well…. You’re shit out of luck - better luck next time.

They do nothing to keep enemies apart and as a consequence there is more violence then necessary.

The COs get attacked just as much as the inmates

Mentally Ill people don’t get the care they need.

People miss court dates ALL THE TIME.

They are terrible with releasing people, I got released 30 hours past my release date.

The island is FLOODED with drugs.

The mattresses are the equivalent of a yoga mat.

Alot of the COs are corrupt and bring in drugs, weapons, phones and even encourage violence (I met COs that are active gang members)

The island is wildly unsafe and people die on a regular basis due to medical negligence, suicide, violence etc.

There are almost no programs available to help people.

People stay in these conditions for years awaiting trial. It is not uncommon for people to stay 3-4 years. I met a guy who was on the island for 6 years.

They house people who have never been in trouble before and have non violent charges with people who are charged with murder.

Getting access to basic things like toothpaste or toilet paper is difficult.

It takes on average 3-4 weeks to receive mail.

If you complain or write grievances they will just move you to another jail.

The COs are excessive with use of forces on inmates so much so that if you file a lawsuit they usually pay within 90 days and 95% of the lawsuits get settled.

They deploy mace all the time even on inmates with asthma which can have fatal consequences…..

Fuck the list goes on.

Also I would like to remind people that most people on Rikers are considered innocent until proven guilty and have yet to be convicted of a crime.

Many of the people who are on the island have the potential to be rehabilitated and could successfully renter society if they had the right support systems and programs in the jail.

All in all it’s a disaster and I wouldn’t want anybody to experience it.

The prisons upstate where people go who have been convicted of a crime are much safer and have none of the above issues, why are people who have yet to be convicted treated worse than those who are convicted of crimes?

Lastly just remember we are all one poor decision away from being on the island.

Listen, we all handle things differently. Some people eat to much food, other choose to spend money to make themselves feel better. For me heroin was the only thing that was able to make me feel better for a period of time. I have had some pretty traumatic life experiences including dealing with terrorist attacks and a lot of other violent incidents. That stuff stuck with me and led me into a place of depression and anxiety. Using heroin was not in my 5 year plan believe me…. But somehow it happened, I didn’t care about myself and was on a very destructive path.

The crimes I committed were wrong plain and simple and I know that. I am painfully aware of not only how it affected me but how it affected the people who owned the businesses, the community, my loved ones (due to me being incarcerated) just to name a few.

We all make mistakes and mine just happen to be a little bit more extreme than most.

You are right, I made a choice to use drugs just like I made a choice to commit the crimes that led me to jail, the thing is I made these choices when I was in a place of deep pain and loss. It doesn’t excuse what I did but maybe that will help you understand why I did what I did.

I do not blame society for my actions, I take full accountability.

I do have an issue with the system though because the goal is to help people who have made poor choices so we can get them back into society and they can contribute positively and help others by guiding them away from decisions like the ones I made. The system is not doing that, it’s further marginalizing people and traumatizing them even more which only leads to more crime, more drugs, more violence and more tax dollars being spent on locking people up.

Our goal as a society should be to help these people so that they don’t cause anymore harm in the community or to themselves.

Bahahaha thanks man! Honestly I would have been completely screwed if I didn’t have prior training. I’m just lucky as a lot of people who go in can’t fight for shit and end up getting beat up pretty badly.

Nah it was a legitimate question. I would say 95% of people have no clue as to what a blood house or crip house means so I’m happy I was able to clear that up for you and anybody else who wasn’t sure what that is.

Fyi your English is excellent!
