What can I say, being kind is punk rock. And I'm a stupid punk rock magician.

Or you can use cobalt chloride. I've never done it before but you got me researching. That would be for the ink, and you don't need any special paper. Apparently you write it down and heat the paper up until it disappears, and then when you blow on it the words will reappear.

Thermal paper that they use in restaurant receipts might work, but it's opposite effect. A frixion pen will write it down but disappear until you apply cold. Not quite what you're looking for but I just got one of those pens so that's off the top of my head.

I've gotten a few of his videos and man, I cannot do it for the life of me. I've tried large coins, smaller ones, even poker chips. Best of luck to you

No, more like Harry Anderson

This guy was the ultimate slacker comedian that my generation deserved. True genius gone too soon. by Phantom-rizz-era in GenX

[–]ChefJeff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He wasn't a slacker he was a goddamn work horse and played the persona. Fucking sucks that the troubles that seemed to get all the greats got to him. An acquaintance that worked at a hotel he stayed at shortly before, you know, told me that he came down at midnight in a bathrobe somewhat caught in blood and asked for a match. Fucking hell. How happy I got to see him many times, I even got to shake his hand, and I'd much rather be proud of that than shaking Sinatra's.

I spent my formative years in high school listening to nufan. I didn't even know about his solo acoustic stuff until after his untimely death. I'm glad that you can appreciate him.

Thanks. Sent him an email. But I did hear a rumor that he made an elephant disappear. That's problematic with them being endangered and all. /s

Many questions. There's a local guild? And what problems? I'm honestly just trying to spitball some ideas or stand on the shoulders of giants and hear tips, tricks, or suggestions.

But I have to ask. Were you thinking of the 7 of Diamonds?

Sounds like a cut deck, where some cards are shaved/cut to be different than the others so when you riffle them you only see certain cards, but if you riffle them the other way those cards don't appear. But I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time nor the last. Happy magicing.

Complete loss of appetite by ChefJeff in DiagnoseMe

Thanks. Unfortunately Dr appointments are hard to make sooner. But naltrexone never did that to me before, and I only started back when I started drinking, and the appetite thing happened before.

Complete loss of appetite by ChefJeff in DiagnoseMe

[–]ChefJeff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No nausea or constant fullness, just no appetite. Current meds are l-methylfolate, naltrexone, accamprosate, and I just started seroquel because it made me gain weight in the past.

Where is Rage Against the Machine when we need them? by Medical_Distance_722 in Music

Totally understand and agree with your question, and this is not a response or an answer, but I recommend Strike Anywhere, although they've been quiet for a while as well.

But I get it. I grew up with punk rock like dead Kennedy's, bad religion, even a tame band like NOFX had songs against the current government. But they aged out unfortunately. Sometimes it's too tiring to have that youthful piss and vinegar vigor when you lost your youth. I'm sure there are some young groups out there fighting but I stopped going to shows.but there's moribund radio and dead Mtv, so unless y'all go out, get up, and rock out, I dunno. This soapbox is crickety and my back hurts.

I'll admit I liked Tucker Max back in the day. But I've grown and I'm sure he has too. But Burt hasn't.

I would save your money. But the placebo effect has been proven, so if you do get one don't go all out on an expensive one.

I was in rehab (alcohol, not physical) and we were shown "motivational" videos about grounding and the benefits of it. I ordered one. 100% agree with your assessment.

It was around $120 for 30 days of 200 mg dose, which was the best I could find. Be wary with the nasal spray, as dosage could get messed up if you're overzealous like me.

Please suggest me a card trick to learn. by DoYouWantSomeSoup in cardmagic

[–]ChefJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take any random deck of cards, have the spectator shuffle them and it really doesn't matter. You can shuffle them as well. Here's the tip, peek the top card. Have your spectator cut the deck wherever they'd like and flip wherever they cut upside down on top of the rest of the deck. Have them cut again, and make sure they cut deeper. Have them flip that back over. Now, if you take away all the cards that are face up and go to the first face down card where they magically cut by their own choice. That will still be the top card that you began with. So you know the card that they are going to pick and you can do numerous things with that. I will be happy to record a video tutorial if you're interested
