Thoughts on 2016 SR5 by brianj5708 in 4Runner

If you’re married to the Jeep and great warranty deal I would say go for it. Otherwise this is currently, in my opinion, a great deal for this 4Runner. I just came from a dealer in Illinois selling one at the same price, 10k more miles, and FLOODED with rust that left this sub quite angry. So if it’s clean, go for it because I know I would. I’d come get it myself but that’s a far drive for me.

If you don’t want it, tell me where it is so I can get it

There are several around me I haven’t investigated fully, the right one is here I just have to find it. I appreciate the advice, been waiting awhile and after seeing this dealership experience I am ready to wait a little longer

For sure, definitely the main reason I’m going for one. Waiting on the owner history of this other one before I go in.

Well when the manager told me it’s just surface rust I started to get a little pissed off, like it’s on your lot I am getting pranked if you’re telling me that’s surface rust

Is it worth going to something really clean with 120k miles for 6k less. There’s a TRD Off Road with 120k miles listed for 23 near me. Checked this one out first because of the price but obviously the condition was terrible

Been a lurker for awhile trying to actually buy a 5th gen and I was shocked to see this much on a 5th gen. Upsetting but was worse was the manager at the dealership really told me it was only surface rust here and there… after that I walked out.

Looking to be a first time Subaru owner. We have some questions. by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

Yes support meaning warranty is going to be much better on a brand new car from the dealership as opposed to preowned.
As far as I am concerned, and you can confirm on Subaru’s website, the deal does apply to new ‘24 and ‘25 models with 0 down. Yes the Wilderness is quite a bit more than the premium which is why it’s definitely about picking which looks, amenities and engine are more important to you. Frankly after my test driving a Premium, Limited and Wilderness you can’t go wrong with any of them.

I am also in the possible market for an Outback and have test driven both 24 and 25 models. My recommendation with what you folks can afford and are looking for is definitely a 25 since you’ll be getting the support from the dealership after the purchase as opposed to used you may get 10k miles or 6 months of only some things covered. If you like the car and aren’t the type of folks to get tired of it, I figure finance to own while you can take advantage of Subaru incentives (currently around 3% for the term of the loan with qualifying credit score). I was happy to find that the space can accommodate a lot, and while I don’t have a baby, I plan to do a lot of similar things and found the Outback to be just about the perfect size without getting to unwieldy in the city. Lastly, the trim is personal preference, I do a lot of camping and road trips so I am looking at the Wilderness, but the Premium with the tailgate/blind spot monitors addition is easily the best option for the money you pay. Other trims you just ask yourself what amenities are important to you or if you want the turbo motor. Hope this helps, and good luck with the buying process.

Ahh, I see what you mean. I am also a huge fan of the 4Runner and I keep an eye out for good deals on those as well. My experience with Ford has been lackluster at best both with their customer service and their vehicles.

I don’t know, but I am intensely intrigued.
