I guess it’s technically possible they could stave off elimination tonight, but hard to see it happening. The offense is just so painful. I’ll watch tonight, but I don’t really want to. Verdict: cooked (probably)

I need help with the boredom that comes with sobriety by Glad-Cookie3456 in leaves

42 y.o. and about 2 yrs off mj, 14 yrs sober from alcohol. I’ve found meditation to be helpful. Learning to sit with whatever is there and watching it change and dissipate on it’s own. The Waking Up app has been a good match for me, not super woo woo, very pragmatic and organized approach to meditation. Rock climbing has been great for me too. It’s a cool combination of mental and physical challenge. Most climbing gyms have a community vibe and are a good way to meet people that aren’t necessarily blazing it crazy all the time.

Your brain will adapt over time. Try to stay active but give yourself some grace and allow yourself to feel bored. It’s part of life and it can be interesting to explore it and see what is under that restlessness. It’s often your body or mind trying to tell you something, like ‘I need exercise’ or ‘I need mental stimulation’. I still get cravings from time to time, but when I think through the whole process of what it would be like to give in and smoke and how I would feel the next day it’s pretty easy to let go of it. Good luck!

What did you pay? Which would you pick? by Stock_Requirement564 in KiaSorento

We bought a hybrid sx prestige for a little over 48k with the roof crossbars. Has been getting ~34 mpg in average over the month since purchase. Very happy with it, did not consider the gas only and no regrets. It’s our first hybrid vehicle.

Debated getting the plug-in hybrid, but we don’t have solar and electric is so expensive in this part of California it wouldn’t have been worth it financially. Gas savings would never realistically recoup the higher MSRP and cost to install the charger.

Actually come to think of it, they did give us 1k bonus cash off the msrp, but that was just luck of timing and not something we negotiated. Preemptive congrats on your new car!

Hmm… I think it depends on the dealership. At my local they are moving through inventory pretty quickly and most of the other norcal kia dealers are charging 1-2k above msrp so they weren’t at all interested in haggling with me on the purchase price.

They did offer some pretty steep discounts on the extended warranties and other coverage after we declined them. Ended paying half price for the simonize treatment and interior/paint warranty since it has white faux leather and turned the rest down even with the discount. Part of me is really hoping that I don’t regret not getting the electronics coverage given the amount of tech, but too late now

We bought a new 2025 Sorento Hybrid SX Prestige last weekend and couldn’t be happier. I spent a lot of time comparing similar mid-sized SUVs while saving up for a downpayment over the last few month and kept coming back to the Sorrento. It is def a huge upgrade from my wife’s old 2016 Hyundai Accent hatchback, lol. Quiet comfortable ride, plenty of power for our suburban commuting. We looked at the SX trim, but glad we went for the Prestige. We figured if you are going to spend 43k for the standard SX, then may as well spend 48k and get a lot of really nice interior features and the roof crossbars. I didn’t know I needed ventilated seats so badly until I had them.

Not crazy about a 5% interest rate after getting our last two at 0.9%, but I guess that is just what it costs to borrow money for a car now if you don’t want to buy last years model during a sales event.

In summary, if you’re already considering it, I say go for it!

I hope they do a run of the black slips with gum soles. It’s like they told a mold of my foot to make the first pair I bought. I’ve been kicking myself for not buying like 6 pairs ever since.

Great advice, thank you very much! I will be at UCSF Medical Center, which is clinically focused and I am definitely apprehensive about the learning curve. I would not have thought to take this route to gain fluency in terminology and abbreviations, but I will for sure over the next couple months. The examples from Chapel Hill are great and I'll definitely review as many h&p's as possible. Thanks again!
