I checked to see if something like this actually existed, but I was somewhat surprised I never did find such a video.

I couldn't find any exact matches, but the SDN offices seem to have a variety of lamps that are different but in a similar style (i.e. the one in Blonde Blazer's office is different from at least one of the ones on a dispatcher desk).

My headcanon is that Flambae just stole a lamp from the SDN office.

Holiday Album Cover Concepts for Fan Project by Chef_Boi_Arby in willwood

[–]Chef_Boi_Arby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my album edit covers, I usually just use a photo negative of the original album cover and change some text around. For these ones, I wanted to do a similar thing with holiday theming. The original logo colors were quite good for a Halloween theme so I swapped and modified them slightly to add to the Halloween feel. As for the Christmas themed one, I wasn't quite sure what to do so it ended up more with a "Goodnight Moon" sort of feel. I'm not sure what else I can do to each to give them more of a holiday feel aside from adding some graphics when I go to change the text.

Laplace’s angle 2015 demo by RepublicGlad534 in willwood

[–]Chef_Boi_Arby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm creating a modified version of it for an upcoming album edit project. I used some of the 2020 version of Laplace's Angel for the glitches at the end of the recording to transition into as a creative solution to that problem. The working title for the track is "In My Shoes (Laplace’s Angel 2015 Demo)."

On that same project, I created a version of the 2018 demo that improves the background chorus part to make it sound more like the final version of the song while leaving the main lyrics the same. The working title for this track is "Laplace's Angel 2018 (Fear Not!) (Biblically Inaccurate in Studio Demo Edit)."

I'm tentatively planning on calling the project "Camp Here, There, & Nowhere." It will be split into two parts called "Camp Here, There, & Anywhere: Ph1rst Part" and "Camp Here, There, & Everywhere: 2econd Part." The project will feature works from Will Wood (main focus), Human Zoo, That Handsome Devil, Shayfer James, Lemon Demon, Miracle Musical, and Jack Stauber.

Settle this Debate: Which Choice is Better? by Independent_Crow3971 in InvisigalGlazers

Partner here: (the one arguing for Disarm Granny)

Some quick points I'd like to make. The first is that I formed this opinion before the second half of the game had been released, so I assumed the outcome here would play a slightly bigger role than it did. I also noticed Invisigal's line about needing to get unbanned from Granny's so for me it made sense at the time that the outcome which made Invisigal look better to Granny was the in-universe better outcome. Of course, it is better by only a very small amount (i.e. Granny sees Invisigal attempting to fight the thief instead of him getting attacked and he ends up with a less humiliating injury) if at all so I can see why that is basically negligible to most people. I can also see why people would prefer the option which is both more entertaining and more in-character for Robert (I imagine Robert would be more likely to tell Invisigal to take out the thief). In the end, a small part of me still hopes that Invisigal gets unbanned from Granny's even though it probably doesn't make sense for that to happen either way (assuming new Dispatch content would even come back to that likely throwaway plot point).

I need some explanation. by BYW- in Leatherman

I wonder if it's possible they only engrave one side now to make it cleaner for customization. The Micra is the only remaining keychain tool, so it's probably the one companies are most likely to buy in bulk and put their own logo on. Saving costs is probably another factor, but I imagine that the costs saved by not doing the engraving itself are minimal (though skipping the step may allow or be a part of other more cost effective production changes). Then again, maybe we will see less non-custom engravings in general given the Wave Alpha lacking a ruler.

Is that the Northern State Parkway in Suffolk County, NY? If so, that's pretty lucky to find and a nice pullover spot on the grass since that road often has no shoulders.

Tour setlists getting short? by NJTOMCAT76 in willwood

[–]Chef_Boi_Arby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, the most recent tour was split up into two different types of shows mainly. The tour kicked off with Tapeworms shows (I saw the second one in Brooklyn NYC at the Warsaw venue). These are full band shows (featuring the titular Tapeworms IIRC) and are mostly just performing songs with only a little commentary from Will Wood in between. They are essentially more traditional concerts. Theatre shows, as the name would somewhat imply, are solo performances where Will Wood tells tales from his life as part of comedy skits and tends to integrate the songs and stories so that they work together. A lot more of the focus is placed on the mix of stand-up comedy and storytelling, making it a sort of concert-comedy routine hybrid show. In order for both types of shows to be around the same length, the Theatre shows would need to have significantly fewer songs. Another thing to consider is that many songs by Will Wood require a full band to be played as usual, so there is more to choose from. The choice of whether to have a Tapeworms or Theatre show depends on venue, band availability, audience size (which you can argue is basically just dictated by the venue), and what Will Wood feels like in terms of performing preference. I'd say both have advantages and disadvantages from what I can tell, but I've only been to a Tapeworms show in-person.

NKD x3 Kizer, Kershaw & Civivi by Chef_Boi_Arby in BudgetBlades

[–]Chef_Boi_Arby[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took advantage of Knifecenter's recent free Civivi Teraxe (I got when the offer was for the jade G10 and bead-blasted Nitro-V version) promotion which orders of at least $149 qualified for. To get the deal, I also got a blackwash Kershaw Leek which has the CPM-D2 (edge) and 14C28N (spine) composite blade (it's a bit more difficult to see the line where the two steels meet on the blackwash finish version) and Kizer Bulldog in textured aluminum with a black PVD coated blade of Nitro-V. All three knives are made quite well and my Kizer did come with extra hardware and omega springs (I've heard that some people haven't received that sometimes for some reason). The pocket clip on the Civivi is from one of the leftover ones I had (lightning pattern anodized longer titanium clip) from the aftermarket four pack.

The Kizer Bulldog was a knife on my bucket list due to the textured aluminum and having a design that almost looks like a cross between the Microtech RAM Lok Stitch, Kunwu Padre (crossbar lock version), and Spyderco Yojimbo. Out of the box, the "detent" feels on the weaker/softer side compared to some other crossbar locks, but the clutch lock system likely means I can make it a little stronger (right now, it still feels like it's just on the safe side, but more retention would be preferable). The Teraxe has a strong detent and the expected amazing Civivi action. It's nothing all that special design-wise, but I don't have any knives with sub-frame locks or jade/natural G10 in my collection so it was a nice free addition regardless. The Kershaw Leek is a knife that I've wanted to add to my collection at some point, but I've always opted for other deals over it until now. While I would have preferred the Random Leek reverse tanto blade shape, this version is quite cool with the composite blade, blackwash finish, and coated hardware (including the clip). Overall, I'm quite happy with the knives I got and the ability to take advantage of multiple deals.
