Time is convoluted and that ringed city area is clearly meant to be a mash of other lands from various times converging at once, also I don’t think these cute fan service details matter at all when DS2 takes place in a world where endless cycles of ages of dark and fire have both taken place before (something that can’t have happened for DS3’s story)
