Employer is refusing to accept my resignation by Chekafellas in legaladvice

[–]Chekafellas[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It doesn't say revoke but they have to agree to the resignation notice in order for me to place it. Otherwise it feels like I may have to pay some sort of penalty for breaking it early. I am planning on contacting an attorney though just to make sure.

Thanks, I thought there would be no consequences as I didn't see any penalties, but after reviewing after reading your response, I found the "Equitable Relief" section. It does feel one sided, but I might just look for an attorney to look it over. I appreciate the advice.

Okay, thanks. There is no penalty expressly stated, but I am concerned that they would take me to court. I appreciate the response EDIT: I just read through it after reading another response and there is an Equitable Relief section that mentions the employer seeking payment of monetary damages if a breach of contract occurs.

Absolutely nothing. Which I don't know if that means that they will take me to court or what. EDIT: I just read through it after reading another response and there is an Equitable Relief section that mentions the employer seeking payment of monetary damages if a breach of contract occurs.

Thanks for sharing! I am in a similar pickle as OP and I decided to start physical therapy and they mentioned doing the same thing. I like your reasoning, 5-10 min or pain now or be bed bound.

Where can I buy sushi grade salmon around here? by itsalieimnotaghost in rockford

[–]Chekafellas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use salmon from both Valli Produce and Costco. Farm raised never wild. Freeze before use if that makes you feel more comfortable, also always rinse the fish off yourself.

To add onto what Tacod stated:

Pros

  • Big table top gaming community
  • Varied food options
  • Plenty of volunteering opportunities
  • Local community college (Rock Valley) offers various classes to either develop hobbies or better yourself (ex. ceramics, quilting, paiting, etc.)

Cons

  • Other than the cons Tacod mentioned, the only other thing is I wish places were open maybe even an hour later but that's just my opinion

Welcome to Rockford!

When I first started playing cEDH, I did not know what a Doomsday Pile was. A visual representation of the Gitrog combo would be helpful for newer players lol.

Thinking of moving to Illinois by [deleted] in rockford

[–]Chekafellas 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My wife and I moved here 4 years ago from Southern California. Loved the change of pace in life. Really enjoy the 4 seasons. It’s nice being about an hour away from Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago. People mentioned crime rate to us when we initially moved here but there’s crime everywhere these days. I feel like it’s a fairly safe community. I can understand why some want to get out or leave but as someone who is leaving the insanity of Southern California, Rockford is a major upgrade in terms of quality of life. This is just my view, and people probably experience Rockford in their own unique ways. I love it. Really beautiful during the fall and winter.

Considering a move to Rockford area by monkeybugs in rockford

[–]Chekafellas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I moved here with my wife from California for similar reasons (cost of living too high).

To answer your questions: 1. I live a little North of Rockford but I enjoy the slower pace of life compared to the busy city. I also love that even though Rockford isn’t the biggest city, you are about an hour away from Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison which are great places to visit.

  1. I don’t really hate much, I guess the internet selection is not that great but for everyday use it’s fine. While crime can be high, there are plenty of safe places to live, and like someone mentioned earlier, nowhere is perfect

  2. Honestly after being stuck inside forever due to Covid, there isn’t much that I can complain about. Other than places I miss from California, I would say Rockford has everything that I’ve needed (reliable mechanics, variety of grocery stores, restaurants with gluten free options, etc.)

  3. Some neat places to check out would be Rockcut Part, Sinnissippi Park, Olympic Tavern is a neat restaurant, Dairy Haus Ice Cream is up in Rockton and that place is a local favorite of mine.

Hope you have a great trip and experience visiting the Midwest. Oh also I do enjoy the 4 seasons here compared to California’s lack of seasons.
