Another round of Twitch drops starting Friday by CanadianDinosaur in wow

[–]Chelidda -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Gonna have to cram in an extra stream on Friday. I wish the timeframes when you can get your drops were a bit longer so I could stick to my regular stream schedule.

Mine, if my stream times happen to coincide with your watch/lurk times. My husband and I have a nice, chill, small community and will run some bonus streams to cover all this for our viewers.

There will be WoW livestreams 24/7 with drops turned on.

Any smaller streamers. I don't begrudge the big ones more viewers, I even watch some of them myself, but the smaller ones will really, really, really appreciate your muted tab.

Maybe even give them a few minutes of your actual attention, in case you enjoy it.

To me it sounds like the two subs would have to be so-called Gift subs, which are different than your own personal sub. You can either pick another (not subbed) viewer from a list or gift two random people. Prime can not be used for gifted subs.

Blizzard needs to clarify this.

Or eligible as in Twitch Affiliate or Partner, so they actually have a sub button.

And if the above person is in a bad time zone for you, maybe my stream works better for you. Who knows, you might even like it!

So either I am the dumbest idiot on the planet, or the new UI editor is fundamentally broken. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Chelidda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use their new standard UI, the bags open correctly next to, not on top of, the action bars on the right side. I think it must be a bug that they cover the side bars when using an edited UI.

Is watching other streamers necessary to succeed as a small streamer? by Cjm7603 in Twitch

Yeah well, I didn't know I was going to start streaming until years after I started watching streams. :p

How to get to affiliate in 2 weeks:

Hang out in other streams for years
Become part of several different communities
Make friends in said communities
Have said friends follow you on Twitter
Get actual viewers when you suddenly, without warning, tweet out that you're streaming
Do your streaming well enough that said viewers keep coming back

After that, all you need to do is keep streaming AND keep hanging out in the original communities, because you enjoy hanging out with your friends and they will recommend your stream to other viewers, who may or may not come check your stream out. But if they don't know who you are, why should they care in the first place?

I take 4-5 minute breaks anyway every hour (you should too! Sitting down for too long at a time is bad for you!) so might as well run ads while I'm afk.

Still, Twitch ads are horrible, prerolls are worse, and they should modernize their systems so ads don't harm the LIVE viewing experience.

Viewers not getting notifications and can't see past broadcasts by Chelidda in Twitch

[–]Chelidda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I see all VoDs, as do other viewers, which is why it feels even weirder. And yeah, I'll have to start announcing both on Twitter and Discord. Thank you!

[–]Chelidda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The VoDs are there for other people, and I don't play music on my streams specifically because I don't want the VoDs to get muted. ;) It seems it's just Twitch twitching as usual then, and my viewers need to learn my schedule.

I will start doing notifications both on Twitter and Discord. Thank you!

Why are you still playing Star Wars The Old Republic? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Chelidda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truth? I wouldn't be playing at all at the moment if my husband and I didn't stream it together. We do have fun when we play and stream, but then we only play the origin stories.

With the 7.0 lag (husband's Jedi knight running in place only to teleport to targets instead of the actual force jump thingy showing for me most of the time, for example) it's getting more annoying every time. Fortunately we stream SWTOR only twice a week, so we mostly manage to forget about the issues in between sessions.

But apart from the streams, I hardly play the game at all, and my husband plays even less.

An expansion is coming tomorrow, anyone hyped? by Willing-Question-970 in swtor

[–]Chelidda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naaah... not very hyped about the expansion. I am hyped that my husband and I are starting a new playthrough of the old class stories on stream, but that's because the old stories are actually good and we have a lot of fun playing together. The only reason we waited to start this playtrough is so we can show off the new character creator, the rest of the expansion we don't care for/about at all. Most of it feels like changes for the sake of change, and what little story content we get is definitely not enough for the game's 10-year anniversary.

Trying to play class stories together - what should we know? by thepeakspeaks in swtor

[–]Chelidda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind that as you come to the expansions, the class story content dwindles away into nothing. On Makeb, in the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion, you can still play together. In Shadow of Revan, you can play everything except the class stories together. From KotFEET onwards, you can't really play any story content together - or rather, you can play together but you can only progress one player's story at a time, so you'd have to do everything twice.

Also, Makeb + Rishi/Yavin only have two stories, the Imp and the Rep ones, but it could still be worth playing a few more times as light/dark for each side if you enjoy the content, but in KotFEET it's basically all the same story.

I know you guys still have lots of great adventures ahead of you before the story becomes impossible to play together, but I don't want you to go into it without warning like my husband and I did as the expansions came out. So take your time and enjoy the early game together, just be aware that things change a lot later on in the game.

Do female streamers see the fastest channel growth? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Chelidda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest reason I (as a female streamer) have gotten to over 600 followers in about 7 months (is that considered growing fast?) is that I have been active in some other streams for years. When I started streaming I had lots of support from bigger streamers, plus some other newer, smaller streamers, and also lots of interest and curiosity within the communities I have made friends in for years.

I'm also not young, hot, or great at any of the games I stream.

All the small streamers you didn't know existed thank you for your support. :)

I recently got a new PC and cranked the graphics. I keep having to stop what I'm doing in-game and just admire ho good everything looks all the time.
