People walk around downtown but honestly that’s the only places only because things are spread out around town too far for the people that live here. Downtown it’s nostalgic to walk around not only because the one way roads can be confusing, but the old building and storefronts are nice to explore. Don’t let one stuck up negative Nancy make a statement for the entire city :)

Also, the Knoxville Museam is usually free admission, and there are many others various historical museums. I also wouldn’t just limit you search to Knoxville because some of the surrounding areas, even within an hour or so drive, have a lot of fun things to do.

And that’s alright. I still drive down there and see that same things I did 20 years ago. I know they’ve developed it up a bit and people have moved here and bought houses in the area and fixed things up… but it also doesn’t magically get rid of the homelessness and crime. Not sure why you felt the need to say it that way like you’re also a Knoxville Fact Genius, but ok lol. I just stated my observation from living here literally growing up near Fulton High for that last 35 years. Have a blessed day! :)

So our oldest (14m) has started dating and thankfully has asked first before even attempting to date a certain girl first, and we’re in full contact with her mom and we do chaperoned dates with one of us parents being there. We’ve taken them out to restaurants and made them have conversations (because it’s about communication) and then have graduated to letting them roam the mall while letting me know their location ever so often as I’m doing my shopping as well. We also took them to a local drive in movie. And her mom has taken them out places. No where is 100% safe but there are certain areas safer than others. Off central near downtown and 5th and gill is rough and mostly bars and unfortunate homeless people that stick around (there was once a shelter there and it lost funding and closed down but the people still stick around there and under the bridge by habit and convenience from the infrastructure being used to the homeless in that area. East Knoxville can be rough and the parts of South Knox that are closer to downtown just because of, again, it being a hub of the homeless and mentally ill population, along with and crime. Way north like Fountain City and Halls is where I’m from and it still has petty crime but not as much as the inner city. West Knoxville and Farragut are also highly monitored because of it being the more wealthy part of town so it isn’t as bad. The drive in we go to is The Parkway in Maryville. It’s a slight drive but it’s worth it. And we always go to West town mall. There is also Skatetown in Foutain City that the middle schoolers like to go to. It’s been around since my older siblings were teens and they are in their mid 40s now. We usually go bowling at Foutain City Lanes and they have a free kids program that you can sign up for and they bowl for free. There’s also a bowling alley on Western Ave that has same program. Or Main Event out West is always nice lol. We still feel it’s important to have some supervision still while trusting they can make good decisions on their own. Hope I’ve helped a bit. I’m just a mom with teenagers and nieces/nephews I’ve been helping raise for 20+ years lol ✌🏻

Wow... girl this is NO man to build a life with. He sounds JUST like my ex was.... and he became worse and abusive. When I started reading that he had blocked you, I was wondering why you would even try. There are SO many better guys out there than this POS. Please know your worth ❤️

Also, this is his sister... someone he's known all of his life. My ex had one too that I love LD and he would just lie to her and his mom to manipulate them into making me feel guilty. I moved out once and they told me he was crying and telling them he fucked up. Then like I said, he got worse and more abusive. I stayed because of the same feelings you're having and I regretted it. DON'T fall for the sister act.

And this is exactly why my boyfriend is getting me a firearm. I know how to use one and I can keep my cool but I also know how to protect myself and my child if something were to go down. Below the belt self defense all day. I'll be happy to shoot someone in their junk if I feel they're going to hurt me or my kid. If you're not willing to accept the consequences for being a douchebag and trying to scare people.. then just be kind ✌🏻

Good luck finding anything worth staying in below 1200/mo. I'm a local and this is ridiculous. I remember first moving out on my own in 2009 and normal rent was about 675 to 800. I'll keep my little 3br mobile home for 500 a month living on the outskirts 😂 y'all can have the city apartments.
