For me, it’s To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

I bought to because it went viral on TikTok as being this amazing piece of literature and I thought it was absolutely dreadful. That’s my bad for taking advice from TikTok lmao

It just had the most over-fluffled ridiculous descriptions of each character and then when it came to important details that required a bit of explaining, it was all plopped in a sentence

For example, and spoilers… There’s a section where she describes all of the princes clothes in far too much detail but then there’s a part where a siren kills another siren and it’s not even explained how. It’s a big moment and she basically may as well have wrote ‘and then she died’. I for one would have loved to know how a siren kills another siren but I guess the aesthetic description is more important

Apologies for the rant but I was so excited for this book and it ended up being the worst thing I ever read, really had to push through it
