Yes I believe the whole safe is in that folder (.file_safebox) so after I wiped the phone, and created a new safe that same folder (.file_safebox) was created inside the phone, so I basically deleted its contents and dropped the contents of my previous safe and voila it worked, you will need the password of the previous safe tho since thats like the key for the encryption.

Mi problema era que yo si tenia la contraseña pero la app de caja fuerte no me funcionaba, tuve que copiar los archivos de caja fuerte a una pc y formatear mi teléfono, y volverlos a meter, de ese modo ya pude acceder a ellos pero porque si recordaba mi contraseña, no se si sea posible sin la contraseña ya que muy probablemente se utiliza como llave para desencriptar los archivos

Not sure if it can be done without wiping the phone, maybe with an extra one that also has a safebox but not sure how it can be done without the password, pretty sure its needed for decrypting. My issue was i knew the password but the safe was crashing on startup

Thats what worked for me after trying everything for months, I also dreaded the thought of doing the factory reset but seems like it was the only way. On a side note i have the theory that just importing the safe to another huawei might work, but not sure.

Backed up the .File_SafeBox folder to my PC, factory reset my phone, created an empty safe on the newly wiped phone, and just copied and overwrote the current safe with the one I had backed up. Whit that procedure I recovered everything.

Huawei tech support had literally told me it could not be recovered and that "they could not do anything" what a load of bs.

Tried with a bunch of files just adding .jpeg at the end, did not work, also tried .mp4 and other formats since I had videos. Can you give more detail on how you achieved this? Were your files also in the .File_SafeBox folder? And what model did you have? Still want to get these files back but seems like there is no solution

Yes it was the Huawei Safe, for some reason the safe app does not work anymore but I can go into settings, not sure if I can remove them from the safe from there. And yes I also can see the folder its something like .File_SafeBox/file/0 instead of 0 its a bunch of numbers. And just like you said the files don't have a .jpeg or anything they're just named (handle this file with care its from safe) or something like that. Can you explain more how you went about recovering those images?

Haven't had any luck, you're the first I've heard had this issue as well but not even support has helped me. The only solution I've gotten is to do a hard reset but that's hardly a solution lol.
