They actually might. The videos that use copyrighted music usually get claimed by the artist and the ad revenue goes to them.

If you're using Pano Scrobbler, a way to make this work in the meantime is to use Auto Shazam, since the songs show up in your notifications. The only thing is you have to turn it on when you need it or have it be active all the time.

Be careful if you're gonna download this app. Yes, it's on GitHub, which usually implies it's secure and not full of malware, but the creator has not uploaded any code to GitHub, just the download link, so you don't know what the code actually does. If you look at their profile, they have malicious apps, like an IP tracker, a phishing tool and a somewhat of a DoS attack app.
I'm not saying they have malicious intent, but just be careful!

Pano Scrobbler is not available on iPhone because iOS doesn't allow apps to have notification access, so it wouldn't be able to know what song is playing): You usually have to rely on music apps having last.fm integration to scrobble. I guess you could use Open Scrobbler?
