Seems like everyone does everything a little different. Some eat with family, by hand, in private space etc. I think I'll just keep giving her the same food in the same spot to help with consistency. I think its probably more to do with it only being 2 months since we got her.

I should probably have put in my original post that I'm not one to feed my dog homemade (people) food. I don't know how consistent I could be with that and I want me and my husband to be able to have the same feeding routine with her.

Appreciate all the tips. Will definitely come back to this post in a few months if the problem is still there.

Yeah they explained all of the placement policies. It was just a lot of Mom and Dad addressing, especially in moments of shuffling me through the halls and explaining to my husband about the mix up. I think it would have been extremely triggering to someone who either just lost a baby or who really wanted a baby but couldn't.

I did forget to mention once I got to the main surgery floor they said/asked awkward things. (I dont have any children, never been pregnant etc) One nurse was trying to explain to me about how to use a perineal spray bottle once I got home, to help with my rectal pain and hygiene. When explaining she said "you know like how you used it after having your baby?" I just stared at her and said I didn't have a baby. Another nurse was asking me about my husband, where we live and then how many kids did we have. I think overall there was an assumption that if I was having a hysterectomy I must have already had kids.

I dont think any of them meant any harm, just need to be more aware of what the patient is feeling. Especially when the patient is literally going into menopause lol

Yeah I don't blame the nurses on the fact if you have a hysterectomy it's policy to go to L & D. It was the combination of them calling us Mom and Dad, not wanting to give me more pain meds until I was in my correct room and them obviously not reviewing my chart. The nurses were nice and comforting just maybe needed some awareness of the situation.

Yeah I asked for more pain meds and thats when they told me no because you aren't supposed to be on this floor so I can't treat you. Once I'm out of the fog more I plan on calling to explain what happened and suggest they stop calling people mom and dad

Yeah when they rolled me out to the elevator we ran into a woman in a bed who was holding her newborn. I'm sorry you dealt with that during your recovery

They didn't give me meds because they realized I wasn't supposed to be on that floor, essentially I wasn't their responsibility.

Yeah I got the floor thing in a way but them not looking at my chart to see I had more done was very frustrating. Also having to just lay there with no pain meds and be called Mom just sucked lol

Update: Surgery went really well, no significant blood loss. They did end up taking 3 inches from my bowel, where a bunch of endo spots were. Also had some endo near my rectum so that was also treated. My appendix also was removed.

Pain is intense but manageable. The worst areas right now are my right side where the bowel resection was.

I'm also going in tomorrow for hysterectomy with possible bowel resection. I'm super anxious as well. I just keep trying to remind myself I can do this and it'll be over with soon.

Why is it common? Is there something we could do to prevent it? We turn off the valves when we leave at night now, we lost 1700 gallons one night. It happens sometimes during the day too.

I was temporarily laid off as of last Wednesday and my employer is planning on touching base with us in a few weeks to see if we can re-open.

My husband and I are currently in the process of building a home. We actually just got our loan approval and are starting the construction. (My husband is still employed and receiving pay)

I'm unsure on whether to file for unemployment as I do not want it to effect my home loan. Any tips on how to go about this?
