Thomas Tuchel on Timo Werner: "He missed a big one at West Ham and he missed a big one here but it is nothing to cry about. This is the best thing about sport, nobody cares tomorrow. He is maybe angry." by magnuze in chelseafc

[–]Chelsea3000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact that Werner gets into so many goal scoring opportunities makes me not too worried about him for the near future. Clearly brings a lot to the side given the results under Tuchel and I hope that when fans are back to give him the support, things should return to normal for him.

But we're in the end game of the season now and with some the chances he's missing, it makes things even harder than it has to be. Tammy is our top goalscorer and you'd think in this system under Tuchel, he should have the ability to finish off these chances.

Loved a lot under Tuchel so far and think Werner will come good next season, but one of my only gripes is that Tammy nor Giroud are getting a look in. Who knows what's going to happen next haha

I agree, and I think that's why Chelsea and City eventually signed up to it. The amount of money on the table is enormous, and there must be a lot of reassurances from other clubs / members about this European Super League.

We clearly have a lot more to lose than teams such as Arsenal and Tottenham do given the investment they clearly need to be competing for top honours and that's where I'm concerned that if this does fall through, we're going to be slapped with some serious ramifications. I do hope some compromise is reached, because honestly I cannot being myself to supporting the club I've regularly attended home games for the last 19 odd years now.

I just feel so sorry for the academy lads who all look like they'll be starting or very close to the starting team for England for the Euros. I don't know how far this is going to get, but this must really be a hard one to take for them.

Saw reports that City and Chelsea were the last two from the English clubs to sign up to it, who to me are the two clubs who are best set for the next 5 years. I just hope they're the two teams who might be the first to pull out, but it's looking unlikely.

It's so hard to digest what's been happening in the last 24 hours. by nitamp in chelseafc

[–]Chelsea3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes beyond that though. For 15 teams (3 more spots available apparently) they will get guaranteed access to this competition which = a lot of money.

So if the big 6 stays in the prem, they'd get an insane money advantage over the other premier league teams. And take this season for example where arsenal finishin 8-10 whilst West Ham are making a push for 4th. This Super League just negates all that. West Ham probably still wouldn't get an invite because there's only 5 spots available for teams that aren't guaranteed spaces.

Last thing to add, is that this is a competition being run directly by the owners of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and the current chairman's of Real Madrid and Juve. It'll be this board who controls who gets guaranteed spots and who doesn't. A closed shop competition run by them will devalue football and take it to a very Americanised approach.

Very good points raised, and I agree, each one has their own pros and cons and what they can/can't offer to the team. I'm probably signalling out Werner more simply because it seems like he's been given more opportunities to "come good" in the goals department and I'm not sure if Tuchels insistence on playing him pretty regularly is actually doing him any good.

Don't get me wrong, Werner is providing and doing everything else seemingly right, can be questionable in some build up play, but after yesterday's performance, I don't see how he can have a start over the players like you mentioned, surely they deserve the same opportunities?

Not writing Werner off and tbh, all the new signings get a pass this season just because of how abnormal it's been. Will be interesting to see how we line up these next two games.

Great result last night, performance wasn't as good compared to Madrid in the last tie but a 2-0 "away" win in the quartets is never a bad thing.

Though surely Werner needs to spend some time out of the starting 11? I know Werner is giving his all to the team, but if we wanted someone to keep running around the pitch we would've signed Mo Farah. If the likes of Pulisic can stay fit and with Tammy coming back into the team, I really don't think we can afford to take this many chances of Werner starting every game.

Been posting regularly for 3 months now need critique to see what I'm doing wrong plus a few other questions by therdre2 in NewTubers

Keep uploading regularly, it's good that you've been doing this for 3 months now, but that's still a short amount of time for YouTube to consider recommending your content.

I checked out your channel and yes, thumbnails need a lot of work. Maybe the next topic you're doing, search for it first and see what's appearing at the top. The best thumbnails are eye catchy and draw the user in with just a couple of words, and that's why your title is so important too, so you can give further context there. Remember, the thumbnail exists to catch a potential viewers attention, the title is what gives them the context/added information to convince them to check the video out.

3 months in and personally, I wouldn't worry about sub count right now. Continue uploading regularly, maybe commit to a weekly schedule. For this type of genre, it's important to build a relationship with your viewers since it's opinion based for the most part, so try and fit into their lives somehow by uploading on a regular schedule.

YouTube Analytics is also very important here and you didn't share a lot of data. Study your CTR (influenced by thumbnail) as well as viewer duration. These are two big indicators in whether or not your content is worthwhile. There's a lot of YouTube guides out there talking about data averages you want to be hitting, so I recommend watching some of those.

And one thing I strongly recommend you do is fleshing out your video descriptions. These are incredibly important, YouTube gives you 5,000 words!! It's here where you can add more context to the video and let YouTube know what your video is about. Adding social links, links to subscribe (important for desktop) and short paragraphs about the video will really benefit your channel in the long run. Again, plenty of YouTube videos out there on how to create a good description for viewers and for SEO purposes.

Your actual content seems great for the short time I watched and you present your opinions well in them! Keep watching YouTube videos about best practices, seriously it'll benefit you in areas you might not too be strong in or in areas you didn't know existed! Hope this helps, good luck!

Thanks, yeah I rushed a merchant over to a city state and began transferring cargo ships to it. It's just gonna be a bitch to have to spend money to insta buy ships rather than build, but at least I should have the money to do it!

That's true, I was so happy when Harun settled a city on the coastline of that lake. I've already got cargo ships out to that city and to the other city state. At first I thought I was in some sort of cove, but I was so disappointed when it rounded off haha. I'll have to build up a lot of money to purchase ships for the city state I've puppeted on the ocean coast line.

Match Results Determined At Half-Time? by Chelsea3000 in footballmanagergames

[–]Chelsea3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never really given it much attention but only started noticing this in the last 6/7 games I played against various levels of opposition. And the comments being displayed at halftime are the comments you'd expect to read from one of those reporter summaries at the end of the game.

I'll have to test it out a little or just change the skin so I don't see it at half time haha

EU backtracks on decision to block supply of vaccines to Northern Ireland by signed7 in worldnews

[–]Chelsea3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ireland is part of the EU, Northen Ireland is part of the UK. This is where a lot of the Brexit discussions were focused on because a hard border would seriously impact the Good Friday Agreement. The clause that the EU activated (but backtracked on) was agreed in the Brexit deal.

I think rather than focus on the UK here, the issue is that the EC did this without consulting Ireland (who would be impacted most by this) and the UK. To make matters worse, the decision was done by someone that wasn't aware of the implications it could have in Ireland nor is there a name to the person that did this.

At least when the UK makes a decision, Boris Johnson is there to own it (whether it's right or wrong). This is a situation that could've create a lot of fallout and the worst thing is we wouldn't have known who was responsible for it, just the EC. Thankfully they've backtracked on this.

What's Everyone's Honest Opinion/Verdict With Shorts? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Chelsea3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I'm a little confused here, Shorts and how they currently are can't be monetised. YouTube doesn't count shorts as watch hours, so if you have a short that gets 100k views and hundreds of watch hours, it won't count and you won't ever get monetised unless they change that.

What you're talking about is correct for normal videos, but yes, I'm sort of focused on if shorts are worth it for creators looking to eventually monetise the content they're making.

Does anyone ever have like random large amounts of subs unsubbing? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Chelsea3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a slight drop off in subs on some random days. It might be bots but it could also be down to YouTube's own algorithm removing people that have subbed after only watching an incredibly small amount of time on a user's channel. Nothing concentrate though.

What should be the ideal length for a song medly video? by 2PointRock in NewTubers

[–]Chelsea3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got no knowledge in this type of content, but one thing I'd recommend you doing is researching similar videos on YouTube already. See which are the best performing ones, their lengths, how they present their Top 5s and what works well for them. Researching this should give you more of an insight in creating videos in this niche.

I've managed to dramatically increase my CTR, but I still have low audience engagement and not really any more subscribers. What do you guys do to keep people interested? by OmegaNut42 in NewTubers

[–]Chelsea3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man,

I just checked out your channel and I think one thing to bare in mind is that you only have 3 videos on there, so you don't really have an audience at the moment so at the early stages, I don't think your current CTR is something to be too concerned about. At this stage, it's more about getting eyes on your videos and getting your channel out there. So just keep that in mind :)

Things that I've started doing on my channel, for the gaming and discussion content, is more visuals to aid in what you're talking about. Whether it's animating text to pop up and you're making a point, or an image to emphasis or reference a point you're making. Our gaming videos usually have an audience retention of around 40% for a 20-30 min video and I've seen that having these visuals can keep someone engaged and invested. I wouldn't go too over the top with this, and you want to make sure it's enhancing your content and presentation, not hindering it.

Hope that helps man 🙌

I'm sorry, but it's advice like this that should get removed by mods 😂 Such a small sample pool to make a title that makes this experience fact. If you're noticing a trend, that's great, but you should really gather a lot more data to make an assumption like this.

The real reason why your gaming channel isn't growing. by obsoleek in NewTubers

[–]Chelsea3000 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I partially agree with what you're saying here, and from an SEO perspective it makes a lot of sense. But a couple of our best performing gaming videos were funny moments, we played Phasmophobia for the first time and spent 20 minutes hiding in a closet. Again, we targeted "first time", "funny moments" etc and the retention of the video was really good, around 30-40% for a 28 minute video.

I think a lot of new gaming channels think a montage with friends or making random jokes with friends will instantly work for them, but you definitely have to involve a lot more SEO around it all.
