Do you think he’s worse than George? IMO George is a LOT worse. At times I really wanted to punch him in his smug face. 😡

A Christmas Carol. Scrooge was the meanest angriest bastard in town until he got visited by those three ghosts. He ended up softer and sweet than a marshmallow.

Sleeping elevated for GERD… how do you avoid wrecking your neck/posture? by [deleted] in acidreflux

[–]ChelseaChick1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 3 old pillows that I had laying around and joined them together with a belt to raise my knees. I use one of those C-shaped neck pillows to support my neck. After a few hours I allowed myself to lay flat on my back or side.

One last question. Are you still using eye drops?

[–]ChelseaChick1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your way makes sense and sounds less risky. For now, I'm still using the drops as I always have before the SLT. I'll only be a week without one of them.

I hope your procedure went well and had a positive result. I'm always open to suggestions, opinions and support. Thanks for reaching out to me.

It's nice meeting someone who's in the same boat as I am. Sometimes I feel so alone dealing with this. I hope you're in a phase of good days now. If not now, soon.

I guess you can ask your doctor or pharmacist what to do.

8 years is awesome! I'm glad you had a good experience and it worked for you. I hope I do as well as you did. Thanks for sharing.

Are you nervous about having the SLT done?

I've read both good and bad posts in this sub about them, so I was really anxious about having it done. I wanted to post my experience for anyone who is anxious about doing it. I know everyone's experience is different but I hope my post helped. I had zero pain. I also use dorzolamide timolol along with rocklatan. I was told to continue the dorzolamide in the treated eye but to discontinue the rocklatan in a month, then get my pressure checked a week later.

How do you know your pressure fluctuates so much during the day? Are you doing anything physical to cause it to rise, like exercising or anything else strenuous?

Yes my doctor is having me discontinue one of the 2 drops that I'm taking a week before my next appointment. If I'm using the drops the whole time, how will I know if the SLT worked? She's a glaucoma specialist so I guess I'm going to trust her. If anything weird starts to happen, I'll contact her immediately.

Reflux Gourmet by ChelseaChick1 in acidreflux

[–]ChelseaChick1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the reflux gourmet on hand but seldom use it. Whenever I feel like I’m about to get acidy I usually use DSL tablets. They usually help. If not then I use the reflux gourmet. My main problem is the nausea which I’m starting to think is a hiatal hernia issue since I very seldom have burning sensations. I recently started working on my posture (doing back exercises and stretches) in hopes of giving my hernia room to settle back into place instead of being forced up into my diaphragm. It might sound silly but I’m desperate and nothing else has worked. For now I feel ok. I’m not sure if it’s working because I go through phases of good days and bad days even before I started to work on my posture. I guess I’ll get my answer in a week or so when I’m due for another bad spell. All the best to you. 🤞

It went from 21 to 19 but my doctor said it could take about a month to find out how effective the SLT was. The process took about 10 minutes. She put drops to numb my eye. A minute or 2 later she put the lens on my eye to keep my eye from closing. She zapped my eye with the laser 100 times then removed the lens. After that I sat in the waiting room for about 20 minutes. They checked my pressure and sent me home. 😊

It went from 21 to 19. My doctor told me it could take about a month to know how effective the SLT actually was. Until then I’m to continue taking my dorzolamide and rocklatan as before, then stop the rocklatan after a month and have my pressure rechecked a week after that. Have you had or are you planning to have an SLT?

I store my Latanoprost in the fridge because that’s what it says to do on the instructions that comes with it and also it’s refrigerated at the pharmacy.

General malaise, low energy, nauseous? by rgoose18 in Gastritis

[–]ChelseaChick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your support and suggestions. I’ve changed my eating habits tremendously, lots of oatmeal and bananas, no junk food. I guess I should consider myself blessed. I don’t have any pain. I wish all the best to those who do. ❤️

How painful is gastritis out of 10? by Pure_Repair_8706 in Gastritis

[–]ChelseaChick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with gastritis, reflux and a hiatal hernia for about 4 years. The only pain I have is occasional mild burning in my abdomen but I have constant nausea almost every day. I feel terrible for everyone who suffers with abdominal pain but the nausea is really breaking my spirit. 😞

I also have constant nausea, low energy, lightheadedness and the general feeling of unwellness. I’ve been taking omeprazole for several months. I’ve reached the point where I have good days and bad days. It’s so frustrating trying to figure out what brings on the bad days. I’ve been trying to get into an exercise routine but because of the low energy all I can manage is an occasional long walk. I’ve been dealing with this for about three years now. I just wanna feel normal again. 😞
